Recently I purchased "Mouse Trap" for my granddaughter and she loves it as much as I did!  What's your favorite childhood toy or game?

I loved playing "school" with my chalkboard and chalk. A couple of my kids' favorites were Connect Four, of course Chutes and Ladders, the lite up thingy where you punch the lights into plugs?? Jo

I remember Mouse Trap :)  It took 3 hours to set up and 20 minutes to play :-D  Haha.  I'm sure it's better now then it was then.

Anyway we played almost any and every bored game as a kid.  Monopoly, Life, and other 5 hour long games like that!  Other than bored games, I think we played hide and seek like all the time.

Remember Liddle Kiddles? I thought mine was so beautiful.

I loved playing dominoes with my granny.

I to this day can't stand Monopoly.

I grew up on a farm with lots of open space to play in. We made mud pies, "drove" the farm equipment, played house in an old sheep herders wagon and log cabin, climbed apple trees and so much more.

In the autumn, we would rake the leaves into rows which looked like a blueprint of our "dream house" on the lawn.  We could design our "house" whichever way we wanted and designate what rooms were living room, dining room, kitchen, etc.  We had to create "doors" (blank places in the leaves) to walk through and under no circumstances could we step "through a wall" (over a row of leaves).  Sounds goofy, I know, but it was loads of fun -- price:  NOTHING!

I loved my "sit and spin" a toy guaranteed to induce nausea. Maybe I shouldn't say this... you won't be able to find my parents anyway.... they let us play with a Ouija board. We just made up ghost stories, we weren't trying to seriously contact spirits, so we actually got the creative juices flowing. I don't think that one would be a popular choice today. Still, it was a Milton-Bradley game!  :)

I loved my rock polishing kit. I must be a geek. I'd look for pretty rocks and then run them through the polish, and they would shine and be all colors. They were also smooth and felt nice. Why that caught my fancy, I can't say. But, that was one of my favorite gifts of all time.

I just talked to a girl tonight in her mid-twenties who had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned Colorforms...I used to LOVE those.  I had Smurf ones and Sesame Street ones.  I was a huge PlayDo fan, too, and I would freak out if the colors got smushed together by other kids.  Still bitter...

My most favorite toy was my Slinky!  Back then they only had the silver metal ones but I loved it!  We lived in a house that had 15 steps to the second floor; my sister would let it go at the top and I would catch it at the bottom and run it back up the stairs.  I think I got the raw end of the Slinky deal but I LOVED  watching it slink down the stairs, LOL.  Cheap entertainment yes, memories priceless!

When I was a kid I liked to play with Micromachines and Barbies.
