LeapFrog Leapster L Max Handheld Learning Game System

LeapFrog Leapster L Max Handheld Learning Game System
buying for a preschooler

I purchased a Leapster for my son who is 5 and getting ready to start kindergarten. It gives him something to do while in the car or waiting at an appointment. The games are easy for him to understand and he advances quickly to higher learning levels. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a younger boy or girl. My son is ahead of most of the kids in his preschool class and some of the credit goes to his… read full review »

LeapFrog Tad & Lilly

LeapFrog Tad & Lilly

We have two Leap Frog Lily toys.  One is small that attaches to her stroller or carrier.  The other is a doll.  My daughter has loved to play with her Lily since she could lift her neck and smile.  Lily mostly teaches numbers with music and other objects.  This style of learning I can say first hand is very effective.  My daughter has been counting (well she now sez 1-3,6,7,9&10) since she turned a year old.  — I do give a lot of that credit to this doll.  —… read full review »

Step 2 Sand and Water Activity Center

Step 2 Sand and Water Activity Center
buying for a preschooler, buying for durability, cost-conscious, buying for a kindergardener

MAY

If you have room in your budget, the Step 2 Sand and Water Activity Center is well worth your money!  We purchased ours on sale for $60 and even my frugal husband agrees that it was a smart purchase. — My handy husband said that it was easy to assemble, even with the "help" of two toddlers.  The umbrella easily folds down and we store it out of the sun when not in use.  — I really like that the kids stand up while playing with this instead of sitting down in a sandbox.  This table is much bigger than our previous sandbox and with the… read full review »

MAY

My son is 16 months old and loves to color.  I bought the crayon TaDoodles which say they are for 12+ months and older. Because they are weighted, he has a hard time holding the crayon just right to make it color.  It's really awkward for him to hold.  His friends have the same exact problem as well.  Maybe as he gets older he'll be better with them.  But for now.. he has no problems with regular old… read full review »

The Crayola Color Wonder could not be a better creative outlet for kids!  This is such a great item to bring with you on the airplane, in a restaurant, the car or of course at home.  Absolutely mess free and the kids love them.  I actually have used the large sheets of Color Wonder and the markers with another toy on the market (the Color Bug...radio controlled art toy) and it's really fun.  Now if the two would combine… read full review »

My children love this game and love to shout out HI HO CHERRY-O.  The game is easy to play and great when you have kids of different ages.  My 3 year old grasped the concept of how to play it right away.  The classics are classics for a reason and I recommend adding this to your game collection! … read full review »

The Color Bug is a fun new innovative toy that my children love!  Created and introduced to the market by a small toy company in Denver, the Color Bug has brought creativity into my son's life!  While he wasn't into sitting and coloring, he now will sit and play for long durations of time with the Color Bug.  The combination of a radio controlled toy that draws via remote has made creating art exciting and fun for him.  I loved this product on Oprah and am excited to see it on the shelf!!  I have purchased the playpad that has integrated walls which is a great surface… read full review »

The John Deere Mighty Trike — — by Learning Curve Toys — — Vince Gill sang "Well she might have took my car keys but she forgot about my old John Deere." John Deere is never forgotten around our "farmette."  Our John Deere is one of our proudest purchases.  We use it for our garden, to move dirt, to move rocks, to clear snow, to plant trees and yes, occasionally even to drive to the mailbox or pose our kids for their Christmas photo.  I know, I know... but it does look really Christmassy when they sit on the green tractor with their cute red… read full review »

My boys just love this toy, unfortunately we have been through 4 of them. The posts snap right off, if the ring tips over or falls down. It is one of our very favorite toys. I just wish it was made stronger, this is a toy for boys! This toy doesn't last long. We have even saved the old rings to replace the broken posts, on 4 rings, though, eventually all the posts have… read full review »

When my daughter got this as a birthday present she opened it up and all the pieces went flying before we could put it in the draw.   sometimes my daughter had a had time see what color she want to put in the spots so she went ahead and made up her own drawings. — not for small child under the age of 5 years old, who still put small toys in the mouths.… read full review »
