Since paying for gas for my minivan was requiring a trip to the loan officer at the bank, my family decided it was time to go smaller. Our family will not be growing so a smaller car would be more fuel efficient and save money for all the fun stuff we love to do. Plus in my daughter's environmental eyes, we would be greener.

After much reseach we chose the Toyota Yaris, 4 door sedan, manual. We love it so much. We knew what we were getting for the price but were very pleasantly surprised at the room inside the vehicle. I have two teens and there is plenty of space for both of them. My husband is a very big guy and he is quite comfortable. The car handles beautifully and is great to park and amazing for uturns. The Yaris has way more pep than I expected and being the resident lead foot in the family, I enjoy the car so much.

The gas mileage is unbelievable so trekking back and forth to football  practice will be a breeze. And no longer will day trips cost an arm and a leg.

My only problems would be that it does not have a lot of cubbies for change or other little necessities, nor does extra side airbags/ABS brakes come standard. I do wish Toyota would make safety standard  on all their vehicles.

I think surprises abound when it comes to this fun  little car.

I have had my yaris for about three weeks now. I am still getting used to the position of the dashboard, but other than that I am loving it. Mine is a sedan, very basic! I have a/c, DC play/radio, and automatic transmission. Thats it. I did not realize that it did not have automatic daytime lights, but that will be something I can get used to. Also, there are fewer nooks and cubbys .. but I guess that will teach me to carry around less stuff!
The gas usage is incredible! Three weeks on a full tank and I have not gotten gas yet! Next fill up I will figure my mpg. I do not ask much from a car.. just that it be dependable, economic and comfortable for me. This car fills the bill nicely.
Hope you had a great thanksgiving...!
