When I was younger (pre-children) I said I would never be an M & M - a Mom in a Mini-van. I had to drive bright red sportscars or Jeeps. Well, now I have 2 kids and live in the suburbs. When it was time for a new car, I actually looked at mini-vans. I was about to sign the papers for a Ford, when we went to lunch and saw a Toyota Sienna.
The quality difference was amazing. The basic shape is much better than the boxy Ford, and it drove much smoother. We looked up Consumer Reports, and the Sienna was a hands-down favorite.
Now, I am so glad I have that van. I regularly drive up to 7 kids with coolers, sports equipment, coats, etc. and everyone is comfortable. You would think driving all that mass would be expensive, but the gas mileage is much better than anything else I used to drive.
The only problem we have had is the hubcaps. They are just thin, cheap plastic covers that clip in. One bad pothole and they fly off. They also always look dirty. I hope they put better quality on future models.
