Toyota Prius - 2008 Reviews

The Toyota Prius is a hybrid (gas + regenerative electric) vehicle that is small on the outside, roomy on the inside, and makes this driver feel good all over. It's stubby nose and abreviated back end make it easy to manuver and park. It's long wheel base (about the same as our 2005 Honda Accord) provides for a comforable ride and allows for four passenger doors plus liftback. There is ample head and leg room.

2008 Toyota Prius. 

 I had to wait in line to buy this car. My wait was about 6 weeks, but I'm told that is because I told them I would take whatever color came up first. This is a great car. It's the perfect nerd toy! It tells you how many MPGs you're getting every second. And it averages your MPGs over 5 minute intervals and over a number of miles. I have option pkg 2, which I highly recommend. The SmartKey system is very convenient and the backup camera is great (but it does turn out that it's not at all helpful if you don't actually look at it).

I was in a tough situation when the car my husband & I share was totalled by a drunk driver.  The Prius had been my dream car for years but I was a recent graduate with substantial college debt.  And we needed a car within two weeks, when our rental car expired!  I called a few dealerships and was lucky enough to discover that a Prius was being shipped over from Japan that week.  No one on the waiting list was interested in it because it was "barcelona red."  I told the dealership that I would buy the car without even driving it (it was over the phone).  I am so happy with this auto!
