This hybrid lives up to its "green" reputation without giving the poor service one might fear could be the trade-off. The interior is comfortable (more headroom and legroom than my old Ford Tempo!) the handling is fine, and the mileage, while not meeting the advertised numbers (what car ever does?) is... review »

Slow movement away from a stop accounts for middling 10.5 sec 0-60 mph in our test. But Prius picks up speed nicely, copes reasonably well with traffic. Throttle response best between 25-55 mph. Hybrid system usually shuts down gas engine at stoplights to save fuel, makes near-instant restarts on... review »

We absolutely love this car and everything about it, including all the toys and gadgets that come standard at an unbelievably cheap price. We mainly purchased this car for it's gas saving hybrid capabilities since my husband commutes 3 hours everyday (1 1/2 hrs there and 1 1/2 hrs back). This car had the highest MPG recommendation and the price was right and the gadgets abundant.

It did take a little getting used to at the start, since some of the features are ahead of the curve. For the first few weeks I felt like I was in the Jetson's car. I was really not used to the push button starting...

In a nutshell - I love my Prius, which I've owned for 6 months now.

Mine is fully loaded, since I wanted GPS and leather, and those options mean a full package. I haven't regretted the decision once however. The options are very reasonably priced as is this car.

I highly recommend shopping online via the Toyota web site, and get dealership quotes emailed to you, as I got lower quotes this way - much lower than going to the dealership and trying to haggle down. I tried this too, but ended up going with the email quote as it was over $2000 less. Additionally, it makes for a no-stress shopping experience...

The day I pulled this car off of the lot, I fell in love with it!! You would think that a midsized sadan with a 110HP engine would move like a snail. But in real life this car has some real UMPH!! You can pull up on the freeway and go 70mph just like every body else can in the same amount of time they can. This car has plenty of room for 4 adults but 5 would be a little cramped. Even with 4 adults you have plenty of room for all of their luggage in the back. My Prius has the navigation system wich is totally awsome!! This is actually my second Prius. My 05 Prius was worth a ton of money because...

I've owned this car for a little over a month now and just can't help but want to drive it. It takes the hustle and bustle of every day commuting and turns it into something fun and enjoyable. There's less stress when you don't feel like you need to drive 15 mph over the speed limit (as I used to) and the quiet and comfortable ride of the Prius is everything I could have asked for!

My only regret with this purchase is that it won't last forever. I figure I'll have to trade it in at around 300,000 miles...

I was looking for a new car, and of course with the price of gas going up, was looking for fuel economy also. This car is everything I need. I get an average of 44 mpg. I have the " touring package" with includes larger tires and a larger spoiler. The rear seats fold down to allow a lot of cargo space for me to haul all of my recycled items to the recycle center. I also got the navigation system which is awesome. I have had this car for a few months now, and l am very happy with it.

I'm on my second Prius, and frankly am disappointed compared to the first.  They've taken it upmarket.  It's no longer the small, nimble little car that turns on a dime.

On the upside, it has keyless entry, a backup camera, and lots of controls conveniently duplicated on the steering wheel.

Not sure how I feel about the hatchback.  It's hard to open and close inside the garage, but roomy and convenient.

I know the main appeal about the Toyota Prius is the extremely good gas mileage (although I am more aggressive and only average 45MPG), but what I really like about it is the utility of the interior. The hatchback is truly versatile, and with the fold-down back seats you get an enormous area to pack your gear. With the rear seat backs in the up position, it will actually seat two adults or three kids (and I put the driver's seat all the way back.) It truly has more room than many larger cars.

The controls and dash take some getting used to, and while there are things that I would change, for the...

I have always driven compact cars because I couldn't afford anything else, but now I drive a Prius by choice.  This car has everything I have ever wanted in a previous vehicle and didn't have.

The hatchback and fold down seats have plenty of storage and hauling space, while the hatchback cover keeps things out of sight.  The rear window wiper is the best!  Having snow accumulate on a hatchback window while driving is unnerving, but now I can keep it clean and see what's going on behind me.  The rear camera for reverse is absolutely wonderful, especially in parking lots!

The keyless entry...

this is a wonderful car and i would buy another one if i could, however since this is a review, i will tell you the negaives i have found:

it is very slow from a stop, and would not be a car you could move out of the way of something very quickly... if you need to move fast, you'll get crushed becuase it just wont react

it is very spendy to start with, and since it hasnt been around and hybids all together havent ben around much, it is also speny for an service (most times you have to go to the dealers because no one elese knows about them)

you wont get good gas mileage until it warms up, so if you...

How many ways can you say "I love my car" ?  I feel so safe in it.  As the commercial says, it's quite zippy.  It was more than we originally planned to spend on a new car but it makes up in monthly payment what we save in gas money.  It's also roomier than it looks.  We fit three adults, a baby in a car seat, and 3 weeks of luggage (six suitcases and six carry-ons) into this car.  I especially love the console that allows me to monitor my MPG's and improve my driving to conserve gas.  The bluetooth handsfree works great and will help me be in compliance with upcoming CA laws on cell phone...

The pros:
I was pleasantly surprised at how roomy the inside of the Prius feels, especialy because it looks so tiny from the outside.   Even with a lot of  highway  mileage, it gets  45-55 mpg, which has cut our gas spending tremendously.  It's absolutely adorable, and the keyless entry and no-key-required starting are great features!

The cons:  It's acceleration is not the greatest, and I do miss high horsepower, but it isn't the end of the world.  The console and constant reminders of my gas consumption and mileage also help me adjust to no longer being able to beat anything off the line...

We replaced our Jeep with our very first Brand New Car. Am I glad we did! My husband has a fairly congested commute plus the gas consumption at this point in our nations history was really bothering me. We looked into a natural gas vehicle but with limited fueling stations decided it was going to be more work than he was willing to invest. We settle on the Prius hybrid. Qualified for a tax credit AND a carpool sticker allowing us access to the HOV lane with only one person and free parking at meters. These were the selling points. It has absolutely lived up to our expectations! Drive it... review »

We recently purchased our 2007 Toyota Prius from Wesly Chapel Toyota and could not be more pleased, it is an outstanding car for the money.

Our first long distance trip was from Zephyrhills, FL to Bioloxi, MS and when we arrived we were amazed to find that we still had a 1/4 of a tank left. We would highly recommened this car to anyone looking to save both money and gas. The Prius comes equiped with a back up camera and while driving it is so quiet hard to believe you are surrounded by other cars.
