I have owned a Prius in Japan-- and it really is better there -- more standard equipment and different tuning. I have the 2006 I bought new here and I still do love it. I have not had a single problem in the almost 2 years I have owned it. I average about 51 MPG in the summer and about 48 in the winter. It has adequate power, good interior room, a good radio./

The only thing I would improve is to put wider tires for a little better handling.

This should also be a great used car.

We had Corollas before, and we've cut our gas budget in half with a Prius. It drives more like an SUV or van than a car. It's easy to drive, and after learning some tricks, we're getting around 50 miles a gallon. We've been able to cram all kinds of stuff into it and still been comfortable on long vacations trips or short trips to Lowes picking up large renovation items. We love all the technology, especially the Blue Tooth and the backup camera, although loading the phone book and using voice commands isn't really user-friendly.

I was skeptical about owning a hybrid, but I chose the car we bought last time, so this time it was my partner's turn, and she wanted a Prius.  We've had this car for over a year now, and boy has she proven me wrong!  I love this car!  It is fun and quick to drive, and even though I have a significant commute, I feel like I hardly ever have to stop at the gas station.  We got a package that includes the keyless system, and I thought it would be kind of a stupid perk, but now I have gotten completely spoiled by it.  Using actual keys when I drive our other car seems so old-fashioned.  It's...

We bought this car as my new commuting vehicle and we love it.  The vehicle is INTELLIGENT - I'm so tired of automakers adding some useless new gadget to their vehicles, just to be able to state that they have something new.  Everything about this car seems like it was designed by an intelligent rational person.

Some of the coolest features have nothing at all to do with the hybrid nature of the vehicle itself.  Take the remote entry, for example - there's a RFID chip in the key fob.  When the car senses a hand touching the driver's door, the passenger's door, or the cargo hatch, it sends...

My son and I love our Prius. We love the value, the gas mileage and the "spaceship" look and feel to the car. We don't have to get gas very often and when we do, even in these crazy times, we don't put more than $30.00 in which STILL gets us 2 weeks at minimum of gas. We drive everywhere and we like to travel in style and comfort, but we don't want to pay a lot. With the Prius, we can do that. Did I mention the technology? This thing is advanced!!! I always know my current and overall gas mileage, I no longer make jack-rabbit starts because I can guage how I am impacting my vehicle, I can get from...

This is our 2nd Toyota Prius-This one's name is Penelope Prius 2.  It is the first time in my life I have ever loved a car enough to give it a name.   They are very comfortable even for big people (as both of us are).  Who could complain of the excellent gas mileage.  We have averaged 47 to 56 MPG.  I don't trust the gas mileage on the screen so I figure up the actual MPG every fill up and record it.  If my husband didn't have such a heavy foot we would get better mileage. We did not get the GPS already installed as it added $4000 to the cost.  We purchased one that sits on the dash on... read full review »

I've never regretted buying my Prius -- in fact, I wish I had bought it sooner!  It has done everything I wanted it to do and more.  I get 40+ miles to the gallon, even though I live at the top of a long hill and drive it up and down a lot.  Out on the road my mileage is around
46 MPG!  It is very roomy, can carry large items (like a Christmas tree!) and now that there are so many of them on the road, I feel as if we're all part of an environmentally conscious club!  I just hit 15,000 miles, and I haven't had to have a thing fixed on my Prius other than get the oil changed a few times.  That's...

Great investment - nice to have the engine shutdown at stoplights while the other gas guzzlers are running.   The Prius is a quiet running car - due to size it is very nimble with a good turning radius.   The safety features are good, with airbags, and it's very spacious for the weekend home and garden store trips.  Surprisingly spacious with the split fold down seats.    Averages about 52 City/Highway driving combined.

I bought the 2006 low mileage Toyotal Prius used, but I love this car.   Would absolutely buy new and add to the family.

I was extremely disappointed when I had to part with my Prius. The car got absolutely fantastic mileage, handled nicely, and was a pleasure to drive.  I loved how quiet it was. Stopped on a dime. Handled snow and ice surprisingly well. The backup camera is really great - you *have* to remember it has a small lens, though. Sometimes a bug will crawl right in front of the camera, and it will absolutely jolt you when you see a huge huge huge spider in the rearview camera (though it's hilarious in retrospect). I cannot wait to get back into one!

It really made more sense for me to buy a new Toyota Prius than to keep making payments on my old Sunfire.  There was a tax credit at the time and averaging 43-47 mpg, I save a lot of money on gas!  We drove to Florida from Ohio for $50 last summer.  This summer we drove with three adults and two children, comfortably, to Florida.  I would buy another one if we had the need.  We can't wait for Toyota to come out with a hybrid truck!

I'm very pleased with my Prius.  The gas mileage isn't as good as I'd hoped, but it's far better than any other vehicle I've owned.  The "techie" features like built-in blue tooth, the smart key system, the ipod jack, and the back up camera are wonderful - and helped convince my less eco-conscious husband to go for the Prius.  The car is spacious and comfortable - back seat passengers are always pleasantly surprised by the amount of legroom.

I love my prius!  This car really is the most efficient, most technologically advanced car I've ever driven.  Ever time you break, it generates that wasted energy back into battery power for your car to use later.  If you learn to drive it correctly, you will get BETTER than the advertised gas mileage.  I get almost 55 mpg on the highway with the A/C on!  I'm so glad to have a car that protects the environment and is fun to drive.

I had an accident in this car and I was so happy they were able to rebuild it.  If they told me it was totaled I would have bought another one.  I also drive a Jeep, so I ca rotate fun with practicality.  Be sure to read your owner's manual - there are lots of great tips and tricks that are very different fom any other car on the market.  I have driven LOTS of vehicles and this and Jeep's are my favorites.

When I first got my Prius, I worried that a "hybrid" may not have the get-up-and-go that my Camry did. I was pleasantly surprised. This car drives better than I expected. And it feels good to save money in gas. I have been getting 47 MPG consistently. It is not for a large family, but my carseat fits comfortably in the back.
