I love my Toyota. First foreign car I owned. I bought it pre-owned in jan 08 with 23,000 miles. i drive a lot back and forth to STL so I aleady burned up my manufactures warranty. I didn't buy the extended warrranty because I have never used them in the past and wasted a lot of money. And this is a Toyota , right? Well on April 9th 2 days before I started my 600 mile journey to the Smoky Mountains I got right in my car like usual after work and tried to start the car. Nothing after several attempts. I gave it some gas and it started but the check engine light was on. Not good. It was too late in the evening to have it looked at so I had to take my chances and try to drive it home 30 miles away. It actually made it but through the evening I was trying a couple things and it kept getting worse. Symptoms were like the fuel pump or fuel line was the problem. I had to make arrangements with work for the next day and got it into a local shop. The shop I took it to was very honest and didn't charge me a thing because the computer went out on the car and he couldn't run a diagnosis on it. He also informed me that he thinks my problem should be covered under the power train warranty. WHO HOO! maybe.but I didn't give up hope. However I couldn't even drive it at that point and the dealership was 40 miles away. GRRR! So now i have to tow it. No problem car insurance will cover it. But it cost $120 bucks and they ony pay half. The dealership couldn't look at it that day and wouldn't give me a loaner or pay for my rental or tow. If this under warranty why not? especially if there is a bulletin/recall. I never got a letter informing me about this either. I will NEVER buy a car from this dealership.
