Toyota Corolla - 2004 —

We found ourselves in need of buying another car to shuttle our kids to and from school. We wanted something reasonable in price (ideally, in the $15,000 range), pretty hardy-- meaning the car could handle the wear and tear of kids, extremely reliable, and safe. Since we are Lexus owners and very loyal, we decided to look at Toyota options. As part of our research, however, we did check out the Honda Accord and Civic. For under $15,000 (not much under), we were able to get a Toyota Corolla with low mileage and fully decked out-- for a Corolla. We were also able to negotiate a 3-year warranty from the dealership. Of course there is no dual climate control, heated seats, power seats, or 6 CD changers but you dont come to expect that from an economy car. As far as details- there is a nice steering wheel, same wood finish as our Lexus, CD changer, power everything (except for seats), and a nice body style. I have also come to appreciate the cloth seats since they dont freeze in the Chicago weather. The Toyota Corolla also offers a comfortable ride and comfortable seats. For the pricetag, the Corolla is a very great buy.

Can't tell you how much I've enjoyed getting 40 mpg in mine, while gas is above $3.......! My next car will probably be another Corolla.
