Toyota Camry - 2007 Review

In October of 06' I was in need of a new car.  My wife was driving a 97' Toyota Camry.  It has over 125000 miles and is still in good condition.  We looked at several cars and finally settled on the 2007 Toyota Camry.

The first and most important reason we settled on the Camry was due to its safety ratings.  It got good marks from both the US government and The Institute for Highway Safety.  The first major feature is the 7 air bags that are in the car..  You have the drivers and passenger's bags.  There side curtain air bags one each side.  There is one for the driver's knees. And there are two elbow airbags; one for the driver and one for the side passenger.  The car also has Anti-lock brakes and front crumple zones.  And according to the dealer, the doors are lined with side impact tubes.  Finally, the rear seats have latches for child car seats.

Besides needing safety I needed comfort.  The cabin is very spacious for both me and all the passengers.  The ride is very smooth.  Unlike my last car, I don't feel every bump in the road with the Camry. The trunk is very spacious. I don't know how big it is but it can hold a lot.

Handling and performance are also good with the Camry.  The model I purchased is the CE 4 cylinder, 5 speed automatic model with only 155 hp.  Normally it has 185 hp but the one I bought meets California emission standards.  This knocks down the horse power.  Regardless, the engine is still very peppy. It has the power to easily pass other cars without any struggle. The steering is very responsive.  Breaking is also very good. 

Some other features that I have are the radio control in the steering wheel, an auxiliary port for mp3 players, am/fm tuner, cd/mp3 player, air conditioning, electronic controls for the driver's seat, and there are many more that come with the car or can be added.

In all, I am very happy with my purchase.  I would recommend this car for anyone looking for a good, safe, and reliable car.
