I really shouldn't complain about my nails.  They grow long and they grow fast.  The color and shape are good and they don't have gnarly ridges or any gross attributes.  But it seems that everytime they get nice and long, one of them rips wayyyyyy down low to the point that my finger hurts and bleeds where it ripped off.  Yuck!

When this happens all of the other nails have to get cut down with it.  I can't stand the look of one or two short nails and eight long ones.  It just looks nasty to me.

So to combat this issue I try to keep my nails coated with a strengthening product at all times.  Preferably a few coats.  For years I used a product called formula 10 but I cannot find it anymore so on a recent Walgreens trip I picked up a product called Total Nail Rx Sudden Strength for $7.99 and it works well.

Sudden Strength goes on completely clear and has a shiny finish. It looks like any other clear nail polish but contains natural botanicals, calcium, and vitamins which are supposed to help strengthen and lengthen without brittleness.

So far, so good.  I've been using this product regularly for about 3 months and have noticed that my nails do not break as often.  I had one break off this week which was painful and disappointing but it has been nearly two months since I've had any breakage at all so I think that is a good sign.  Normally I break a nail down to the quick every two to three weeks.

Sudden Strength does go on completely clear but when I apply additional coats I have noticed a light blue tint to my nails as the product builds up.  I think it's kind of cool but others might find it disturbing.  One other thing that I really like is that Sudden Strength does not peel up after a few days like other products I've tried.  I generally apply another coat every day or every other day which has caused other products to peel off in huge chunks after 3 coats.  This does not happen with Sudden Strength for several days which is good because I don't like having to remove it every 3rd day and start over.
