Most HelpfulThis is the first of two laptops that we have in the house, and it stands out primarily because of the large display screen. When opened, the display measure out at 15.4 inches diagonally, and is basically big enough to suit a desktop computer. The size of the screen does make the laptop a little...

Most HelpfulThis laptop is a Toshiba Satellite series. it is WiFi, with 1 gb ram, 80 gb hard drive, and a dvd/cd burner. After purchasing this computer I realized that my Internet service was not slow it was just my desktop that was slow. This is great for students who just need to write papers and surf the web. The cost was only $329 plus $49.99 to upgrade to 1 gb ram.
On the negative side, I dislike vista very much. i have found that most programs and devices such as printers and scanners are not compatible. When you talk to reps for vista or at pc store they say that they do not have anything compatible...
read full review »I have one of the Toshiba dual processor laptops.
It has always worked quite well and I have not had any issues using several windows at a time- while some of the older laptops out there were really lacking processing power.
One slight annoyance is that there is no built in card reader and I had to get one to transfer my files.
I would buy another Toshiba laptop, if they can fix one of their major issues.
They have had recalls on the batteries for leaking and exploding and the local shop I bought from had no info.
I called Toshiba directly and they were quite helpful- exept I had to leave my computer...
read full review »Toshiba Satelite laptop. I got this laptop several months ago as an addition to my mini. The only reason I got was because it was very cheap. But it appeared to be a pretty good laptop.
SCREEN:
Screen resolution and the quality of the picture are great. It is very clear and the colors are very bright and natural. The screen can be seen basically by any angle which make it easier to watch a movie with a friend or read from the screen in bed.
Keyboard:
The keyboard is pretty good too. It is easy to type and the keys are located in all the convenient places so you don't really have to get used...
This computer is great! I usually use HP's but I got the toshiba laptop as a graduation present right before college. It has be perfect and I have yet to have any problems with it after using it daily for 3 years. I have a millon things saved on it including hundresds of pictures, songs, files, and such, and it still runs as smoothly as the day I recieved it as a gift. I can use it for anything from email, to IM, to pictures, music, word processsing. It is great for listening to music and watching movies! The display is very clear and the screen is nice and big. It comes with great quality...
read full review »Since I got my Toshiba Satellite I've been able to stay connected anywhere. I use it for business, entertainment and keeping in touch with friends and family. It handles all my needs and then some. I can use my laptop connected if need be or wirelessly as I prefer, anywhere I can get a bluetooth signal. I take it when I travel locally and out of state. I love the versatility of being able to use the laptop no matter the connection. I can use dial-up, DSL/Broadband or wireless/satellite. It rocks! I love the freedom and portability of the laptop, I will never be tied to a desktop again!!
I bought this laptop about a year ago and its still up to date with the memory i got the 2GB and 250mb hard drive. I love this computer is really good for school typing and writing notes. I like the new vista program. My laptop is the 15.4inch monitor and it weighs about six pounds or a little more. I wish the laptop was a little more compact and not so heavy, i probably should have gone with the 13 inch so it would be better to carry around at school. besides that its fast and works really well for online browsing, typing papers, storing music and pictures.
The computer is descent enough... BUT... it does not have nearly enough memory and the guys at Circuit City should have told us so! The memory barely will run the Operating & Start up system. Circuit city was more than happy to sell us upgraded memory.... of which we purchased an extra 1 Gigabytes for $120. Now, the computer is able to run the programs it should and download from the internet at normal/acceptable speeds. Many pre-loaded things on this puppy that most of us don't need.
