When I got this computer I liked the fact that it had a bigger screen with a separate number keypad. It was a good value and I opted to go with this one and add extra ram rather than a more expensive that had more "bells and whistles" but less memory. Right now I am still running the Vista that came with it and that can be slow but other than that it has been a very reliable computer. Now the cons...one of the very first things that happened was the place where the power cord plugs in to the computer came loose inside the computer. Since then that has happened regularly. There is nothing inside to back it up; there is only a small lip that is supposed to hold it in place. There needs to be something behind it so that when you are pushing on it to plug the power source in it doesn't put so much pressure on that lip.

The Toshiba Satellite L355-S7902  Notebook is a good computer for someone who is not experienced, although they should have used Windows XP over Windows Vista in this, as the Vista progam is so much different in technology, it is somewhat confusing to use.  If you rest your wrists on the board below the keyboard, it seems to affect the ability of things to work, like it is sensitive to the touch of something being on it, maybe shorting things out when you rest your hands down.  The Web camera in the computer is not very good either. works only part of the time.  the upside of the computer, it has a 17 inch screen; which if you want to see what you are looking at this is a great thing, but if you are looking for privacy, i would suggest you go with a smaller private screen. it has low jack in it and also face recognition. but then the face recognition is only good if your web camera will come on.  The price is allittle steep for the quality of this product. I would not recommend buying this.

I have had this laptop for about 16 months. I am mostly in love with it. My husband jokes I love it more than I love him. The pros: nice big screen, large keyboard and seperate number pad, sturdy. Cons: Needs to have power connector and power cord need replaced. Seems to be a bit picky about the wireless connections. I am admittedly hard on my electronics. Since I use my laptop while sitting on the couch and use the power cord it has gotten jerked and pulled on numerous times. I am sure that has contributed to the power connector becoming lose inside the computer. They sent me out a new cord since the plastic seperated on the orginal cord. The replacement cord was almost two feet shorter than the orginal one. 95% of the time my lap is used with a laptop desk so I haven't had a problem with it overheating as I have had friends complain about with various laptops. We are satisfied enough with this Toshiba that we bought my husband a Toshiba Satellite as well.

I received my Satelitte L355D-S7901 Toshiba brand laptop as a gift a few months back. I had been wanting a laptop for a long time. Although, grateful for the gift, I now wish I could have been involved with the buying decision. If I had I would not have choosen this computer. It has a nice 17" screen, which is great for viewing. But for some reason I always have problems maintaining a strong internet connection. And live video feeds are impossible. They stop and catch constantly. The computer will not allow me to just shut the lid and go back later to a website. For some reason it powers off when closed for a very short amount of time. Then I get an error message and have to reboot. It will not allow me to change the update schedule and will often kick me out with no notice and reboot to do an update which is very frustrating. And it "overheats" easily. When using my laptop it gets hot quickly and will sometime shut itself completely off, again with no warning, and I am assuming this is due to the temperature of the equipment...at least that is my best guess. This laptop seems to be temperamental and quirky so I am not sure! Also, the touch pad is extremely sensative. I ended up hooking a wireless mouse up because it drove me so insane! Graphics seem to jump and bounce alot during game play as well. All in all, not a very good buy for your money. This is my first Toshiba brand product, and based on my experience, will probably be my last.

I bought this Toshiba Satellite about 1.5 years ago.  I did a lot of research and ended up buying it on line.  ( I loathe mail in rebates!)...I purposely got the 17" monitor and I am SO glad I opted for the larger screen.  I primarily have been a desktop user and was planning on using this as my main computer.  I recently upgraded both my ram and hard drive ( (doubled the hard drive space) and find that this computer meets most of my needs. I do a lot of photo edieiting, writing and music and would probably do better with a MAC.  However, a comparable MAC is not in my budget.  I had major glitches with Vista and since it does use a lot of ram; I opted to add XP to my new Hard Drive.  I also opted to purchase a back up drive as videos and photos take a lot of hard drive space.Defragging on a regular basis helps a great deal and the wi fi feature is a definite plus.  Built in web cam and mic make for easy communication with Skype or Yahoo.This computer is great for viewing and editing vidoes, photos and the like and has a whole lot of features ( like handwriitng recognition) that I have not had time to even use... Downside?   Very Short Battery Life.  Make sure you are near an outlet for extensive use of this computer.

This laptop is great. The price was fantastic. I got it on sale at walmart thinking it would be great for a lug around deveice and ended up with a everyday use item. It has enough memory for all my work related jobs and to play all my games. I use it for facebook games and blogging, posting and my other everyday things i do. It never lags, runs very smooth and has a very nice size screen. I am so glad i didn't go with the little notebook mini. This is so much better. It is a little heavy so if you lug t around a lot it might be a little heavy depending on your muscles lol. But i use it mostly at home in my livingroom so that i can be online and still be with the family. It's wifi works great and you can also just plug in if your somewhere thats not wireless. Set up was very easy and it came with all the software that i need. The battery live is ok (its my first laptop so not sure how long other go) but i am mostly plugged in anyway. Overall this is a great machine.

I did not do a lot of reviews of this computer before I bought it. I knew i wanted something with a full keyboard and wanted something that would last a while. I do have to say on toshiba's part they do cover there warranties! I have broken it a few times and they have fixed it no charge and even have sent me Two chords!!! I do have to say the only thing I do not like about it is the quality of the speakers. It has a huge screen and great for watching movies but be prepared to invest in some ear phones if your in a louder than a fan running enviorment. This computer has been through thick and thin. Not a good computer for bringing back and forth to and from places because of its size. It is pretty big and I did not realize that when I had bought it! Remember that it is heavier than most smaller laptops because of its size. I do love it for the size though. I love watching movies on it too that is one of my favorite things to do on the laptop. I would recommendgoing with this laptop or something similar.

This is my second Toshiba laptop computer. I would recommend Toshiba products to anyone who is interested in purchasing a laptop computer. Toshiba is a name brand I trust. My husband also has a Toshiba laptop computer. He seems to be very satisfied with his Toshiba laptop computer also. Toshiba's customer service is excellent, my husband had gotten a virus and called for them to send him a reboot disk and the tech agent told him how to reboot his laptop without using a disk. Most tech support agents would not have walked him through it as well as Toshiba's tech support agent did. I would recommend Toshiba products to anyone. I would give a good rating of Toshiba products to anyone. Toshiba is a very loyal and trust worthy company anyone who purchasing Toshiba products should be very well satisfied. Their customer support service is very helpful beyond what most companys are. Most company's customer support service is not as helpful.
