I have had way better laptops in the past but this laptop is pissing me off. I thought before that my brother had a Toshiba but now realized it was a gateway and it was much better. My issues with the Toshiba Satellite SERIES is that the sound cuts out whenever it feels like (every few weeks or so) and then I have to run all these diagnostic tests because sometimes the solution I used before doesn't work. The main issue that REALLY REALLY pisses me off is the fact that the hinges on this thing are making it come apart, pretty soont he screen part will be totally detached from my bottom half (keyboard part) and I will be screwed. Only reason I have not sent it in for repairs is the fact that I am in school and need my laptop to do my work on otherwise I would fail because I have online courses. And no before you think it I HAVE NOT dropped my laptop , but sure enough my other ones I dropped them (accidents people bumping into me) and they have been fine, I have bent over backwards making sure I did not dropped this one and 5 months in I get this issues, sound issues was about 3 months in. Support & Service they give you a forum and sometimes they dont even answer (not too big on holding this against them but I dont like it because acer and other comps have had direct lines to tech support) Durability one again falling apart...

We really like our Toshiba laptop. We used to have an Acer that was almost exactly the same, but it overheated constantly and finally burned out after only two years. So far the Toshiba has been working wonderfully. We use Linux instead of Windows and have had no problem getting the operating system and the laptop to work compatibly. I also love that this lap top comes with a number pad which makes paying bills and keeping a budget super convenient. We have had a couple of instances of the computer freezing/going black, but we are not yet sure if it's a hardware or a software issue. The laoptop is light and easy to move around and all of its buttons are straightforward. It's a great size - not too big to carry, but big enough to contain a full keyboard and an easy-to-see screen. Support & Service N/A Durability Our former laptop (acer) overheated immediately. We haul this around a lot and it's not damaged one bit

I have had my notebook for a little over a week now. I have fallen in love with it. It can do everything I want it to and more! Before this I had a compaq and I find that the Toshiba Satellite is much easier to use. It sort of has the same feature as an apple with the zooming in with your fingers. It is pretty light weight so I can take it everywhere! I was able to take it with me to school and the battery lasted me a long time. I love the big screen and how clear it is. There are some added things that are neat to use like the bulletin board and sticky notes. It is very quiet, too. The fan is not loud and it has not overheated at all. The keyboard is comfortable to use-the keys are soft in a way. It has the fn keys to control volume and the color of the screen. I like the ten key on the keyboard also. I would recommend this notebook for all college students. It is easy for not taking during class.

Surprised by my family with the Toshiba Satellite C655 Laptop for Christmas.  I absolutely love it.  I am a part-time bookkeeper who works from home and I love the full keyboard with the number pad.  One reason I didn't want a laptop was because I wouldn't have the number keypad on the right.  I am loving it.  I love everything about it.  I would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone.  Speed is wonderful.  Capability is wonderful.  The keys are perfect, not too sensitive but just right and when you are inputing and balancing numbers it is very important.  I was also surprise with a wireless printer so this works perfectly as I work from bed with my Toshiba laptop and can print to the printer in the office.  Have taken the laptop to meetings and satellite works great.  Once again my favorite part is the full keyboard.  I thought I would miss not having a mouse but being able to have my full keyboard makes up for it.  Would definitely say YES to this one.
