I purchased this netbook when it first came out, and back then there really isn't a whole lot to choose from. Most netbooks were all similar in functionalities, except the brand. This is very light and portable, I'm sure you'll know if you decided to go with a netbook. It's not a powerful computer in any mean, but it's sufficient for day to day use, web browsing, word processing etc. Don't expect this to watch high definition video, most you can go is 460P on youtube, after that it just skip frames and lag. Don't expect to play games either, I played CS 1.6, not source, and it's barely palyable. It has 10.1 inch screen so it's not suitable for those things anyway. It has 1G of ram, which you can upgrade to 2G and I suggest you do so right away. It has no wireless N, but supports G and B. I didn't purchase this for other than web browsing and word processing so I didn't expect much. I have been a happy customer with Toshiba too.

This is my second Toshiba and both have been great.   The Toshiba NB205 in particular has been a fun upgrade to my Satellite (that gave up the ghost after 4 1/2 years and a nasty virus).  At first I was wary of the netbook since it does not have a DVD-RW drive on board.  Now, I realize how little I used it! This compact little machine is great as I use it for internet browsing and entertainment as well as my home based business.  I can easily take it from my office (while working) to the kitchen (for online recipes) to the living room (to watch TV online).   It has the hard drive space and memory to get you going -although with a minor memory upgrade, you can be whizzing around the internet and through your tasks at lightening speed!  There is plenty of space and power for software beyond your basic word processing and battery power to keep you going all day long! Sadly, the Toshiba NB205 was only manufactured with analog speakers, so for decent sound you have to use headphones or external speakers.

After ending up on muscle relaxers from carrying around my big, bulky, heavy laptop, I decided to buy a netbook.  After spending a lot of time online trying to find the best one, I happened to be talking to a friend who said that she had recently bought a Toshiba NB205 and she absolutely loved it.  So I took her advice and bought one a few days later.  I'm so glad I mentioned that I was on the market because I absolutely love it! One of my concerns was that the keyboard would be too small.  But I really think that the keyboard is perfect.  Of course, it took some adjusting because it is much smaller than my regular laptop, but I haven't had a problem with it being too small.  The battery life is really great too.  I can usually get about 6 hours before I have to recharge, which for a student, is great because I don't need to bring my charger with me to campus.  So far I have had no complaints and this was my best purchase of the year, no question!

I received this Toshiba netbook as a gift back in November. It has been a great addition for a graduate student who is constantly on the go and needing to be able to keep my information close at hand without hassle. This is a step down from my previous 15.4" laptop. The lightweight makes for easy mobility. The long battery life 7+ hours has been a major addition. I can use it all day without having to worry about carrying the ac adapter with me. The built in SD card reader makes transferring information amazingly simple. I have been able to keep my primary documents on an SD card and alternate between a larger laptop at home, a desktop in the office, and the netbook on the go. Though at 10.1" it is compact the keyboard does not feel overly cramped. The screen does a decent job and is plenty bright. The built in speakers are poor quality. Getting the volume forces you to sacrifice clarity. The built in webcam above the screen was a welcome addition. Overall it has been a great mobile netbook for someone on the go.

This Toshiba NB 205 Netbook is one of the best laptops I have ever had.  I use it for everything from taking notes in class to reasearching discussion topics, to researching paper topics for my classes.  It is small and compact and lightweight, which is great for carrying around with all my books.  It fits in a tiny carrying case that easily slips into my back pack and can be carried without worry of it getting stolen.  It comes with a long power cord, which is great for charging while at school where there is limited outlet space around campus.  The battery life is amazing, with a projected 9 hour battery life, this computer is one of a kind.  I would recommend this computer to any student that is thinking about getting a netbook.  The overall cost is very low compared to a full sized laptop.  There are some downsides to this netbook: One is that there is no CD Drive in the netbook so you have to install all programs either at a store or through the online retailers to get them on your netbook.

The perfect Netbook at a great price:  Here are some of the high points of the netbook.   The keys are large enough, the long lasting battery is outstanding and the screen clarity is perfect. Very light weight and the unit really doesn't get that warm like others.I researched lots of net-books before deciding on this one and was very glad as my friends are sorry they didn't get one. The utilities here do updates for your net book when they become available, and you must use the power manager from Toshiba which is so much better then the Microsoft software as it gives you so many options.   The netbook is very light to carry around.  I upgraded to the 2GB module and was very easy to install took less then 3 minutes to do.  System very fast for it's size.  I was amazed.

I really do love my **Toshiba Mini NB205 (PLL20U-00201D) Netbook its so portable and lite that i can take it about everywhere infact i'm useing it right now siting in my living room. now its not the best for gameing for for surfing the web and chating and checking email along with tweeting and face book myspace linken witch i only use myspace and thats just to keep up with family and friends but thats besides the point. this is also durable, i have droped it a few a times and it still works great. its battery life is good and i love how it has difturn power setings. i tell everyone who are looking for a mini net book about my **Toshiba Mini NB205 (PLL20U-00201D) Netbook and if they are going to get one, to get one made by toshiba, that if they want something worth the money they are going to spend then go with toshiba they well never let you down.******

I bought the Toshiba mini laptop in place of my fullsize HP laptop that was several years old.  I loved that the battery was supposed to last 9 hours and that it was only about 2-3 lbs.    However, I immediately noticed that the speakers being on the bottom do not broadcast loud enough to hear anything. This is extremely frustrating if you don't have any head phones handy and you want to hear something.  Another issue I have is the small screen size always says there is an error when I am on the internet. There is some type of screen resolution issue.  And the most frustrating thing is that the mouse is (regardless of what sensitivity setting you put it on will move your curser even if you do not touch the touch pad) forcing me to have to use an external mouse so that I do not lose my mind when typing.

The Toshiba Mini Notebook NB205-N313P has a 10.1 inch display area. This pretty lady is dressed in posh pink, but don't let her miniscule size and dainty appearance fool you. This Mini packs a kick and a punch, and has a zest and speed that none of my desktop PCs have ever matched. Its performance is indistinguishable from that of a regular size laptop and the Intel Atom processor renders solid and speedy performance at 1.66 Ghz. The hard drive is 1 GB, with virtual memory at 2 GB. My model ships with Windows XP Home Edition and came preloaded with Microsoft Works. Although the operating system may seem antiquated, this little machine runs like a top and I am finding that Windows XP is adequate for online computing. On my second day using the computer, it developed a loud screeching noise, but once I downloaded all upgrades and updated drivers, all glitches were banished. This is easily the best computer I have ever owned and I believe it is also a great value for the money. In spite of its small size, it is very solidly constructed and lends itself well to most computer and Internet based activities.
