Toshiba - HD-A2 DVD Player —
My husband and I bought the first HD DVD player released last year, and it has served us well -- but the Toshiba HD-A2 is even better! It's thinner and more light-weight than its predecessor, so it fits better in our entertainment center. We used to have so many problems with scratched discs not playing in the old player and considered cancelling our Netflix subscription, but the HD-A2 can play them all with few to no problems. The picture quality and sound quality are EXCELLENT -- as long as you're not expecting 1080p, this player is tops. When the camera pans to either side during a shot, you can see the slight jerkiness of the interlaced picture, but that's normal for any interlaced resolution. We are looking forward to the next generation of HD DVD players with 1080p capability, but for now, we're very happy with the HD A2.
