Toshiba A105 Satellite —
Okay... let me start by telling you I DO NOT work for Toshiba and do not know anyone who does ~ Cool, just wanted that to be up front!</***************** align="left">
Alrighty then, I purchased my first of three Toshiba laptops back in 2005, the A105 model.... it is still up and kicking; I cleaned it out and restored to factory..... gave it to my sister for a present and she uses it as her main computer! I still have the other two and use one daily, the other one weekly. I have had absolutely no problems or issues with any of the Toshibas at all - NONE! I know laptops are not as powerful or quick as desktop computers, but they're so **** handy, especially with the wireless; I can go anywhere in the house and out on the patio when the weather is nice, and do everything I want to do on the computer!
One of the most important things I love is that Toshiba always includes the recovery disk in case you need to, or want to clean out and restore you computer to factory new condition! Let me tell you, few companies actually do that. They often create a separate partition with the information, but almost noone actually creates the back-up disks, therefore when needed, you have to buy the disks from HP, Dell, Sony... whoever. Not so with Toshiba.
Now let me explain about the title, the "slides" part! This, by the way, is the reason I will always purchase Toshiba laptops from here on out:
My husband and I were playing Wii Tennis - moved everything pretty far away, but still - my husband managed to catch my Toshiba laptop and sent it sailing and sliding across the ceramic tiled living room! The laptop was on a small table and was open, so when he "swung at the ball", he hit the opened top, right in middle of the screen - it literally flew about 4-5 feet, hit the tiled floor HARD and slid another 2-3 feet. Needless to say, we just knew the computer would have to be fried - I&********* it down and closed it up. Because we were both bummed and didn't want to "face the inevitable", we just kept on playing Wii. Later on when I was ready to face reality, I hit the power button and expected all sorts of problems... there were none ** NO PROBLEMS OR ISSUES AT ALL! Even more incredible, there are no cracks or physical damage to the laptop either! I know this sounds improbable, but it is true and we will swear to that!
Would I recommend Toshiba laptops to my friends? Heck, I recommend them to anyone who asks!!
