I bought this player for my daughter to use on a road trip to Disney World. I bought it, along with two other players that were the same price around the time of all the great Christmas sales. I bought all three hoping to compare them, and find the one that I liked best. This Toshiba model FAR surpassed the Panasonic and Cody brand players I bought. First, it was the easiest to use. There were no silly menus to use, and the buttons were the same as those on my home DVD player. It also felt a more solidly built and was the least prone to skip if slightly bumped. This was important to me, as I knew we would be using this player in the car and were likely to go over the occasional bump in the road. The Toshiba also had a remote control, which the others at this price point did not have. Lastly, the Toshiba seemed to have a slightly better picture quality than the other two. It was very hard to notice much difference because the screen is so small, but the colors seems a little truer. After a little more research, I also found that this Toshiba had a longer battery life than the other two models, but I didn't actually get to test that myself.

Digital media from card or disc is displayed in neat folders, and although it's sluggish to respond you can find files quite easily. They're listed on the left while a list of options and JPEG preview box is shown on the right. On the downside JPEG files look overtly soft and blocky on the low-res screen, which makes the feature fairly pointless. DivX files load up immediately and the 7in screen is perfectly suited to this file format as it helps to mask the blurring and block noise in poorly encoded files. We also listened to a few MP3 files through a high quality pair of headphones and the sound quality is very impressive. There's a lovely balance across the frequency range, with perky treble and a healthy dose of bass. The SDP74 won't play WMA files. However, the SDP74S was primarily conceived for DVD playback and despite its obvious limitations it does a great job with movies. After loading up Avatar, and tweaking the screen settings to make it less murky, we were very pleased by how bright and vibrant the picture looks. It allows you to appreciate the movie's stunning CGI, from the dazzling blue skin tones of the Na'vi to Pandora's vivid landscapes.

well when i first got this product it wasn't all that interesting. i wanted it for on the go entertainment. i would use it for long car trips and boring days. i love how it fits i n a large purse so it isn't that visable. its also great for kids. it keeps them intertaind when they are no where near a telivition. all you need to do is have it charged.  you can charge it over night and no damage will happen to it.  every one enjoys having movies on the go. they are great foe many diffrent times of the days...especialy when it is boring or if you have some extra time. it comes in very handy and is well made. it has fallen so many times before and nothing happens to it, there isn't any major damage to it. it might have a couple of dents here and there but they are not noticeable. it might have a small screen but it gets the job done. and is only for one person to view at a time or it will be a proble for any other person.

This is a remarkable dvd player for the price of the unit. The visual picture is crisp and clean. The quality of the audio for a small 7 inch dvd player is outstanding. It is easy to carry around, great for family outings, like in the car or on a family vacation. For the price and quality I see no better bargin out on the market. I highly recommend this dvd player for lots of fun and enjoyement.

The Toshiba SDP74S portable DVD player is so convenient.  I can take it with me into any room I go into and it is so compact that it fits anywhere.  The quality of the picture is excellent and it is so very easy to use. i can always depend on the Toshiba name as being very dependable and of the highest quality performance.This portable DVD player lives up to that Toshiba quality name. I have taken this portable DVD player with me when I have traveled and when I knew I would have to wait somewhere for a long period of time and because it is so portable I can easily use it anywhere. I have tried other brands of portable DVD players but the picture was not nearly as clear and bright as the Toshiba SDP74S portable DVD player. I am very satisfied and have no complaints with this DVD player.  I would, and have, recommended this Toshiba SDP74S 7 inch white portable DVD player to all of my friends and relatives.

It's a great product, mostly because it contains a plug in cord to go into the hotel or motel room that you have, and because it has a car plug in so that you can always watch it in the car. It really helps with the kids and anyone mostly because it helps out with boredom. I think that they should keep making products like this so that it will keep people entertained. This product is also awesome because in some hotels you have to pay for watching the television, and if they brought enough movies, the whole family can watch it also. This is possible because the screen isn't as small as most people think, and it makes it easier to deal with. The Toshiba Portable DVD player is one of the best things i have ever used, and i would be happy to recommend this product to my friends. The only think i would have to say about the product is to make the screen a little bit bigger so that all of my friends can watch with me. I also love that it is an affordable price!
