As a sports fan and a collector, the 1952 Topps bubble gum cards are the start of the modern era of card collecting. It also had several short production cards and the rarity of some cards make it a challange to assemble.

(Hopefully I will be able to come back and add more to this as time will allow, but I have to go now)

This 1952 Topps set has many short printed cards which makes them very valuable and of course the Mantle rookie card. This would be the set I would try to get if I was collecting vintage Baseball cards. The Mantle rookie card is one of the best sport cards ever produced. The only downfall I have on coleecting this set is that it will be just about impossible to build this set in mint condition or close to it but even with that I would love to have this set, it will become more valuable in the future and is the best set in any brand of baseball cards.
