Top Ten Comedy Movies —

Here I go again...showing my age.  My list of Top Ten Comedy Movies in no particular order is...

10: His Girl Friday from 1940 starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell. (Based from The Front Page)

9: Spaceballs from 1987 starring Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, John Candy and of course Mel Brooks.

8: National Lampoon's Animal House from 1978 starring John Belushi and Tim Matheson. (FOOD FIGHT!)

7: The Front Page from 1974 starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. (This is an update from the original movie done in 1931.)

6: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb from 1964 starring Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.

5: The Thin Man from 1934 starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick & Nora Charles.  Technically a murder - mystery...it's still a gas.

4: Arthur from 1981 starring Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli.  It's fun to be a rich drunk!

3: Airplane! from 1980 starring Robert Hayes and Julie Hagerty.

2: M*A*S*H from 1970 starring Elliott Gould, Donald Sutherland and Sally Kellerman.  Hotlips O'Houlihan: I wonder how such a degenerated person ever reached a position of authority in the Army Medical Corps?
Father Mulcahy: He was drafted.

1: Blazing Saddles from 1974 starring Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little.  Bart: Sir, he specifically requested two "n******". Well, to tell the family secret, my grandmother was Dutch.

I have Arthur in my collection. No one in my family drinks so I find it strange that I would like that movie but it's actually the themesong that I love. "If you get lost between the moon and New York City..." It is a good movie too. I used some of the lines on the "Name that movie" board the other night. ~Gigi

Nice job. I don't like slapstick comedy. I'll take Robin Williams...I laugh so much I have to leave the movie theater.
