Totally jealous New Yorker here. However, I am a little afraid of the hurricanes. We get wind but not massive hurricanes. Still, Florida sounds dreamy in the winter when I am freezing my butt off in chest high snow and below zero weather. Yeck.

And what about the bugs, that are almost as big as the ones here in Texas :-) Great list and humor. My MIL moved from there because she couldn't stand the joy if there any more. :-)

No offense taken! ;-) Charley gave my biz a one-two punch in 2004 and we had to move to the mainland from the islands, but I still love it in Florida. ;-) I hope you sell your house soon!

I hope you weren't offended by my reply. It is just that this paradise has turned sour and there are so many negatives going on down here with all the foreclosures, real estate downturn, and after suffering about $40,000 damage with H. Wilma, I am really ready to get the heck out of here.

How about adding to the list: Hurricanes that cripple you for weeks, lizards as big as alligators in your back yard, heat and humidity that has your clothing soaked in 5 minutes, property taxes and home insurance so extremely expensive that only the elite can afford, once you have moved to South Florida and purchased your house, be prepared to live there forever because you will never be able to sell it.
