1. Scarface-I've watched this movie over 30 times and still love it. It's the story of opportunity in America and the lesson of over indugence. Al Pachino does a great job in making you live out his life as a immigrant turned gangster. This film is very grafic and the language is terrible. I prefer to watch it on TV, not sure if they have a tuned down version?
2. The Shawshank Redemption- Second most watched movie for me. A story of perseverence and never giving up. A good lesson to be learned.
3. The Godfather I.-So many stars doing such a good film. This film covers the American mafia in it's heyday and I found myself rooting for the bad guy a few times. Who wouldn't want the Godfather to do them a favor?
4. Dumb and Dumber-I wish Jim Carrey would go back to comedy. Whenever I'm down I pop this in the DVD and in minutes I'm all chuckles. It's really a stupid movie but I love it.
5. The Shining-Jack Nicholsen does such a great job acting out the Stephen King book. (King also wrote the above Shawshank Redemption). Kind of scary but it will keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole movie.
6. Rain Man-A classic based on a real "brain man" played by Dustin Hoffman "Raymond Babbit" and Tom Cruise as his brother "Charlie Babbit". Separated brothers reunite and have to overcome the eccentric part of Hoffman and deal with the mood swings of Cruise.
7. Godfather II-Not quite as good as part one but I really like the throw backs to how the godfather came to America and got his start. I didn't care for the part Pachino plays as his family and life seems to fall apart.
8. Bill Cosby, Himself-I think this was filmed back in the early 80's but it's soooo funny. This is one film the whole family can watch and you don't have to worry about bad words, nudity or violence.
9. Napoleon Dynamite-My kids turned me on the this dry humor comedy. It took a few times to get the vibe of the film but I love it.
10. Concert for George-A tribute to George Harrison, produced by his wife Olivia. The first part of the film is more spiritual but it transcends into comedy by Monty Python and is followed by a musical tribute by many of George's closest friends including Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr playing on the same stage together. A real celebraton of life!
