Too Faced Shadow Insurance has alot of hype on makeup forums and youtube, and deserves almost every ounce of it. It comes in a wonderful nude shade and dries quickly to a soft, matte finish. It does make your eyeshadow last longer, if paired with the right shadows. I noticed that when used with cream eyeshadow over it I had creasing in less then an hour. I also tried using inexpensive brand shadows over it and the staying power was less then hour. It creased easily when I was in the sun or doing intermediate physical activity, which was a bit of a bummer, but then again you probably shouldn't be...
review »I got a sample of this stuff when I went smurf crazy at Toofaced.com, lol. I had read up on it, seen reviews and figured Id give it a try. Im still using my sample, only because I have an urban decay primer I primalrily use. This stuff is just as great though. And being able to compare the two Id say this one has a less heavy feel to it when its put on. Neither or them are bad at all, but I prefer the feel of this product. The holding and staying power is comparable in the two. Overall Id say I like this one a little more just because it feels a little lighter after it dries.
When I was at sephora a few weeks ago I was contemplating which eye shadow base I should purchase. It was between the shadow insurance or the urban decay primer potion. I heard that they are about the same as far as quality and keeping your makeup on all day without creasing. This was hard for me to choose between the two, but I am glad I went with the shadow insurance. I like the small tube it comes in and how easy it is to apply to my eyes. You don't need a brush to put it on and it has a good amount in the tube; I know it will last me awhile. :]
This makeup eye primer is great for intensifying eyeshadows and preventing creasing. It does everything that it says it will on the box, but it might not work for those with oily eyelids. I would try urban decay primer potion if I had any oil-related problems on my eyelids.
