Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection Review

It had been some time before I had been in the ULTA store not overly far from my home.  I had received a 20% off ANYTHING in the store coupon which is rather rare and I thought if I could find something interesting it might be worth my time to check it out.

I still had some vacation money left so I decided to play at ULTA while my husband did some errands.

I asked what new had come in and no one seemed to remember much, but then someone told me to check out the Too Faced display.

I meandered over to Too Faced after gawking longingly at the LORAC HOLLYWOOD SECRETS VALUE KIT with the gorgeous purple purse, and saw a natural palette sitting there.

The Sales Associate came over and raved about this palette, so I decided to try it on. I was smart in that I did not have any makeup on while I was in the store so I could play with freedom.

WHAT IS THE TOO FACED NATURAL EYE NEUTRAL EYE SHADOW COLLECTION LIKE?

When I opened the TOO FACED NATURAL EYE NEUTRAL EYE SHADOW COLLECTION case, I was mezmerized. Never having been a big fan of neutrals, most of them have not impressed me over the years.  They have often been too warm or just plain non-flattering for me.

This, however, was a completely different story.

There are three levels in this kit.  The first level is mattes for daytime, the second level is semi shimmers for classic look- still can be used in daytime, and the third level is a bit more racy for evening, still allowing you to keep that neutral eye look.

BREAKDOWN OF THE TOO FACED NATURAL EYE NEUTRAL EYE SHADOW COLLECTION

• DAY (Heaven)- a matte ivory shadow- biggest size pan of all for lid coverage and higlighting. can go warm or neutral
• VELVET REVOLVER- a matte taupe which tends toward the cool side and it is medium in lightness.
• SEXSPRESSO- a matte dark true brown, not too yellow, not red, and not too blue.  I would call this more of a neutral brown a bit on the cool side if anything.  Excellent crease shadow.
• CLASSIC (Silk Teddy)- a peach color which is light enough to look good on most skintones with moderate shimmer Large size because it is best on lids and underbrow highlights. 
• PUSH-UP- similar to the LORAC beloved SERENITY (which is in almost every kit they make), it is a lovely peachy pink color which looks good on most skintones.
• EROTICA- a cool taupe with a tiny bit of shimmer, but more on the matte side.  I would call this a cool taupe brown
• FASHION(Nude Beach)- the glitter bomb of the pack- it is almost identical in texture to the MAC FROST PIGMENT which is loaded with fallout.  The best way to use this is wet with a paper under your eyes to block fallout until you are done.  I would use this with a wet brush- don't wet the eyeshadow itself.
• HONEY POT- a golden bronze color- moderate shimmer- lovely as an accent on center lid over any other look too.
• COCOA PUFF- a golden brown with a tiny bit of itty bitty shimmer/glitter in it, but on the skin it looks matte.

HIGHLIGHT COLORS are 2g or .07oz in size

DARKER COLORS are .9g or .03 oz in size

COMMENTS ON THE TOO FACED NATURAL EYE NEUTRAL EYESHADOW COLLECTION

Can this collection be duplicated with other colors.  Yes.  It can.  Would it be as convenient?  No.

This kit is a very ingeniously designed cardboard based kit which has cards in the top for three ideas on how to use this eyeshadow (charts).  Then it has a little drawer with a two sided sponge and liner brush.  The sponge is cheaply made but the liner brush is quite nice.

The shadows are a nice texture, blend well and seem to last a while.  I have tested them out several times with no complaints over a good eyeshadow base.

My biggest complaint with this package is with the FASHION color which is chunky glitter.  If I apply it with a wet MAC 242 brush, I find that it goes on much nicer.  It is fancy and more evening, not something for daily wear, that is for sure.

Although this eyeshadow is not the quality of LORAC, I still love this kit enough to use it daily.  The colors tend to look fabulous on cool or warmer skintones- as the collection encompasses both.  I find that using the warm accents on cool based combos and cool accents on warm combos looks great too.

FINAL COMMENTS

There is a reason why the TOO FACED NATURAL EYE NEUTRAL EYE SHADOW COLLECTION is selling out literally within a few days whenever ULTA gets it in stock.  It is a truly beautiful collectoin of neutral colors with a different twist than LORAC has- which is my favorite brand of eyeshadows.

This collection by TOO FACED is unique enough to warrant its purchase.  It really does a beautiful natural eye.  When I came out of the store the first time with it on, my daughter went nuts- she said my eyes looked amazing.  So did quite a few others.

I had to wait for it to get back in stock to use my coupon, but it was worth the wait.  I have used it from the store a few times anyway and have been very pleased with it.
