I love Tom's of Maine. I love their mission of eco-friendliness and all.. but some of their products are a hit or miss. This one, is unfortunately a miss, or at least in my book. Deodorants are ment to deodorize underarms, and a way to make the user feel like it is working is by making them feel dry under their arms. Feeling dry prevents the source of the smell, which is sweating. Each time I use Tom's deodorant sticks, I feel as if I am already sweating since the substance is very sticky. I also don't like it when I have sweat marks under my arms through my clothes; I don't like the look and especially don't like the feeling. So to prevent this look or feeling, I would have to let the product dry under my arms before I can put on a shirt. This is not a good feature for a person who lives in the fast lane. If they could just change the sticky texture feel it would be a better product, I feel.

I purchased Tom's of Maine Unscented Long Lasting Deodorant Stick because I wanted a safer alternative to other chemically deodorants and anti-perspirants. This product truly is unscented, so I did like that because I am very sensitive to scents and perfumes. However; this product did not seem to fulfill its purpose. Shortly after applying this deodorant, I noticed a very funny smell. It's hard to explain the smell. It wasn't a body odor smell, just a very unusual, undescribable odor. I would go to say it was worse than natural body odor. I did try another brand of deodorant in which I like much better. It is called Crystal Body Deodorant Roll-On. This product is all natural and is endorsed by Cancer Treatment Centers, which eases my mind as to state that it is a safer product. It works pretty well too and has no scent either.

i love the idea of a natural deodorant. i've become more and more conscious of what i put in and on my body and would like to keep myself clean. i also want to buy from companies that have great ethics, give back to the community, are positive influences and are about a change in today's society. with that being said, unfortunately the deodorant did not work for me AT ALL. for the most part it kept me dry, but i still smelled. in fact, i think i smelled worse than if i didn't wear any deodorant. i quit using it after a couple of weeks and it's actually just still sitting in my room. i doubt i will buy another stick unless they revamp. maybe it just doesn't work with my body chemistry? i guess i do have problems with a lot of other deodorants too. if it helps with the smell, then it doesn't help keep me dry. if it keeps me dry, i still smell. i will, though, buy the toothpaste. i love it!

I am on the fence about this product.  I have had good days with it and totally BAD days with it.  This is the first time for me to try a natural deoderant and I was excited to start using an aluminum free product.  This deoderant is indeed unscented.  It is a very slick, thin gel consistency.  You will not feel it under your arms.  I have had days when this deoderant did keep me odor free and days that this deoderant totally did me wrong and I smelled like a hippie by the end of the day.  I will use this deoderant, but only under the following conditions:  that I have just freshly showered and that I do not have anything stressful going on that day and I'm not going anywhere.  In those cases I can get through the day just fine (but would I in that case not need any deoderant).  If I am going anywhere, not taken a morning shower, or am going to have stress, there is no way this deoderant would work for me.  So I guess it's a fail.

I used to be a loyal customer of Toms of Maine unscented natural deoderant sticks. But they recently ***Changed their formula*** ***to include HOPS***. Sadly due to my severe allergies one being Hops, I am no longer able to use this product and I am very unhappy that they no longer offer the old product I had come to love for so many years.  I have been struggling to find an alternative that doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and have been very frustrated with this company for not understanding the needs of individuals like myself. In my opinion if its not broken don't fix it.....Why they had to change their formula and mess with a good thing I don't know.
