I looked at Whole Foods for a deodorant that is "All-Natural" and found this one when I was pregnant. Although I have not heard of any studies about bad effects of chemicals from deodorants to pregnant women and their baby, it was reassuring to know that it doesn't have any bad chemicals. Since my sense of smell became stronger when I was pregnant, it was also helpful because it was fragrance-free. For the most part of my pregnancy (Winter-Spring), it was really good! But when Summer arrived, the deodorant didn't help to stop my armpits from perspiring and smelling! So, when I gave birth in the Summer time, I stopped using it. I would only use this during Winter and when I get pregnant again in the future (yes, even if it's Summer). In spite of the "imperfections" of this product, it is still good to know that there's an All-Natural deodorant in the market like this one.

I am a HUGE fan of Tom's products, we use their toothpaste and deodorant faithfully and have been so happy with every product but this one. I don't feel like my husband is particularly smelly, but this deodorant did not work for him. I think it actualy made him smell worse than even not wearing anything. After a few uses, the roll-on ball itself started smelling like BO. I would not have bought the fragrance-free as I love Tom's scents, but it was the only thing available in the store at the time I went to buy it so I thought we'd give it a try. BUT, I did send an email to Tom's customer care and they responded promptly and are sending us a different product (the stick deodorant in Woodspice... mmmm) at no charge! So while the product itself did not work at all, I'm so happy with the customer service, and they have just secured a loyal customer for life! I love that their products are non-toxic, made in Maine of all-natural ingredients, and now I love their customer service.

Tom's of Maine has become known for their high quality, natural care products. They strive to be a "green" company both in their products and their factories. As someone who likes high quality products but likes to do things naturally when possible (and when affordable), I've found that I like this product. This deodorant does a really good job or downright "odor control" compared to many natural deodorants. I have tried many different ones over the years as I seem to be allergic to many different deodorants (even ones that aren't antipersperant), and this product doesn't bother my skin at all. While I agree with the other reviewer that the odor control isn't quite 24 hours for me either, 8 hours is good enough if you're not working a stressful job. It does seem, though that some days it will work for 24 hours and others only about 8, but i'm not sure why it would vary like that. A slight "downside" to this product is that if you're trying to get completely away from aluminum in your deodorant, it *does* have a naturally occuring form of aluminum in it that is an active ingredient to help prevent the growth of odor causing bacteria.

Tom's of Maine is a great company!  I use a lot of their other products and have never been disappointed.  The regular stick deodorant is great, but I tried their Crystal Confidence fragrance free kind because my skin is really sensitive, and I love it!  It's perfect for a normal day's worth of activities!  I might not want to use it if I was really going to be working up a sweat; I have noticed that at the end of a particularly busy day, it begins wearing off.  However, I work in an office and most days are not very labor intensive; it's been great for me.  I love knowing that I'm using something less harmful for me than other chemical-filled commercial brands, and supporting a company that shares some of the same values as me.  I would, and have, recommend this product to others for sure!
