I found some Tom's of Maine bar soaps on clearance, and combined with a coupon hardly paid anything for them ... so I felt like it was a great time to try out the bar soap. I am so glad I did. I love that all the ingredients are found in nature and are safe for even children to use. We have young children in our home who love to overuse the liquid hand soap in the bathroom, so we substituted Tom's of Maine bar soaps for the liquid. The kids like using the bar soap, and there is much less waste. A bar lasts us a long time, and that says a lot since somone in our family of five us always in the bathroom. The only down-side to this bar soap is that, depending on the formula you get, your skin can feel dry (but not itchy). Lathering on lotion remedies this, and quite honestly, I am willing to do this extra step if it means I am cleaning my hands with natural ingredients as opposed to chemical and toxic formulas found in other soaps.
