I bought the TomTom - One 3rd Edition as a gift for my wife, but used it myself on occassion. We were impressed on a trip to Georgia, when we used a Navman and thought the Tom Tom would be similar. Turns outI was wrong. The Tom Tom has many of the same features, but seems more difficult to use. It has a very complicated screen system that the Navman did not. Trying to find addresses and directions weer simple enough, but when it came to finding points of interests, or even just finding restaurants such as a fast food joint or an actual real meal restaurant, there were a great deal of hoops you had to jump through. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wanted a less expensive, and introductory device. Also for someone who will be happy with it's most basic function. I don't recommend it for anyone who is not at least a little computer savvy. Once you want to start doing other things with it, like run some of the other applications aside from the basic, address to address directions, it becomes more complicated. You almost need to go to a class just to learn how to use it. The instructions it brings are not clear at all, and frustration sets in through trial and error. Not the most efficient way to try to find something, or somewhere you may need to go. Especially if you're on a time crunch. As I have said, get it as a starter. Move on to bigger and better GPS systems once you feel comfortable enough with this one.
