I absolutely love my GPS! I've found it often saves me time by showing me a route to my destination I was not aware of. If I'm in a city and need to get to another city I'm not too familair with, instead of driving toward home to go the way I know, it just takes me down roads, around corners, before you know it-there I am. — I'm not late for my appointments anymore, I can choose a different route if I like, the traffic & weather report is right there. I was a previous garmin owner, which I liked things about and loathed things about. Same with the tomtom. If you are on major roads, it is a breeze - great time estimator, easy to detour, etc. — On the smaller roads you will probably have some issues though - many many times I have been directed to turn down a road that was a private driveway. I have been told to take roads that dead ended. I have been directed through teeny little neighborhoods that barely were driveable, when a nearby road would have been just as quick and certainly more drivable. This is just awesome! You can literally be up and running within minutes of taking out of the box. Actually it took much longer to get the Tom Tom out of its package, than it did to set it up. — We tried everything in the world to "trick" it by deliberately not following the prompts. It corrected perfectly everytime. It is really simple to use and the directions are fairly clear. I was a little confused about turning in a certain number of yards. The TomTom One really is useful but you have to be a techie. My M-I-L could not run it. She would put in a place that she already knows how to go and if it doesn't match the way she wants to go...she gets mad at it. — I however love it. I will use it to see if there is a store near where I am in my own town. I also use it outside of town and it does a reasonable job. I got this Tom Tom One as a Christmas gift and found it to be a very handy.. It's great as an entry level GPS. It's a nice size to hold and carry around with you, though, it's not built for extensive use outside the vehicle as it only has a couple of hours of battery life — It quickly relocates the next best route as soon as it detects you missed a turn. I used to get lost all of the time. Between moving every few years and singing with the radio I never quite got to know the areas I drove in. I received Tom Tom as a gift and now never leave home without it. I take frequent road trips and my car is no longer filled with maps of every state. I love my Tom Tom One. Each time I have used it I have reached my destination without any problems what-so-ever. Sometimes I have used it when I was not completely sure where I was going, but was familiar with the areas and other times I have used in areas I was completely unfamiliar with. — I like that it talks to you even though sometimes I am startled when it speaks. While there are many reason I love this little GPS there are definitely some reasons I don't. — To start off thre are many voices you can choose to download for free! In the city it works great, giving you proper warning, even your speed as you go along. — Although if you wake it out of the city or if there is construction good luck! When my husband first purchased the tomtom because we were leaving out of town for the first time, the first thing i thought was what a waste of money. So when i started using it for my convenience i actually loved it. The thing about the tomtom is that you can set it the way you want (the voice,if you want gas stations to pop up, and etc...).setting it to point A and getting to point B and it just basically guides you to your destination. Ok, this is the coolest gadget ever. I have some memory problems to due to a medical problem. the point being, I get lost easily, even in my home town. Not anymore though. Now i have the tom tom one. I have the voice set to jane. She uses that beautiful british accent to tell me where to turn and when and shows me as well. if i make a wrong turn she automatically corrects or adjusts her route to make up for my mistake. My family and I went on a road trip and purchased our TomTom one. We found it to be very useful. You can choose the route in which it takes you and if you get off track it reecalculates your path instantly. It also shows you everything along the way such as banks, resturants, restrooms, gas, and more. It also has preprogramed locations. It is very easy to use and has a lot of options. I received the TomTom-One GPS Navigation System for Christmas. I was always afriad to drive myself around for fear of getting lost. I no longer have that fear. I also enjoy being able to download new voices and traffic updates. A great option is downloading map udates on the TomTom site and submitting corrections for street names and addtions. I borrowed a TomTom from a friend, not wanting to spend money on something I wasn't even sure I was going to use.. I must say its an awesome product. I moved from NYC to Las Vegas 18 months ago and the TomTom has been a great help!
