The GPS worked well out of the box. To get around the problem that seem to be faced by all GPS (portables) visibility in bright sunlight, I choose to use the nighttime screen. Its cool blue , like the cockpit landing devices. It is much easier to see. Also a curved piece of any type of thick paper wrapped around the GPS will also help with the glare. The unit has European maps included and downloaded. I plan to be in Europe in the next months and can not wait to try it there. I would recommend this unit to anyone. If I can do it anyone can. Ride with my friend alot. We go everywhere from day to day and never know where we are going the most of the time. Like alot of people out there we used to get lost until we found the TomTom unit he bought at Best Buy. We love this little unit. It goes right on your dash and it's not all that big. But what is does for it's size is a amazing thing. We can set it to go to a certain place and if we need to change the settings it will let us even if we are half way threw the trip. That makes it worth all the money we paid for it and more in my eyes. Most units I have come across doesn't have that function....

I simply don't know what I would do without it.  It's a real life saver. As A Foster Parent I do LOTS of traveling especially to areas I don't know and well I simply  would be lost without this little jewel.  God Job!  I like the sound quality, and everything about it.  I received this as a gift so I don't know how much it cost but I would certainly recommend it to anyone and everyone I can think of.  When I stop and think of all the school meetings, meetings with county workers, agency workers, probationers, biological family members plus all the things I need to do for myself personally...

I used this traveling in the US, Canada and Europe. All maps were built in.  I used it all the way from Paris to Barcelona with many side trips along the way. Worked great in Toronto and Montreal. I also use it to locate points of interest along the way all over the Midwest. 

Borrowed a friends unit to drive from Wisconsin to Florida. Did not have the manual. We were able to easily program it with the onscreen prompts. Got us to our destination without ANY mishaps.

If you take a side trip, it starts to get very annoyed and wants you back on track. There were a few times that I wanted to shut the thing up.

I am a home health Physical Therapist Assistant.  I am given directions to every home that I have to go to.  Sometimes the directions are not reliable.  My Tom Tom has saved me from driving around and wasting time trying to find my patients.  The directions given to me by my coworkers are not always reliable.  However, my Tom Tom is.  This device has saved me time and saved my professional reputation.  I dont like telling my patients that I will arrive at a certain time and then not be on time.  I never have to worry now that I have my Tom Tom.  All homehealth personell need to have this...

I attend rabbit shows in some places that I have never been before.  When I didn't have the TomTom to use, I was driving around and around.  I occasionally was late to check in my rabbits.

With the TomTom, I enter the location of the show and I have the assurance that I will get there on time and be able to check my rabbits into the show.  It has brought my anxiety level down greatly.

The TomTom takes a little learning curve at first but once you have played with it, learned that you can change the screen from a day screen to a night screen,ignore the annoying voice when you know your direction...

I have used this model to got to springfield and it worked great. It got me where I was going and back home again with no problems. I love the feature that I can save my trips in the gps. It allows me to change routes in the middle of my trip. I love the turn by turn directions. The gpr unit is the best thing that I have come acrossed.
