Toledo Zoo is a wonderful place to visit! Where I live it is equal distance to there or the detroit zoo, I pick Toledo every time. It's nicer, cleaner, less congested, and the staff is much friendlier. I can take my toddler son there during the day when most kids are at school and we can walk… read full review »

It was my 9 month old son's first visit to the Zoo and he didn't get to enjoy it very much.  Huge crowds of people pushing their way in front of him.  Animals too far away for him to see.  Although it's not controllable by the zoo, they really should make the zoo more kid friendly… read full review »

The Toledo Zoo is a great place to go, if you are a member.  If you are not a member, it will cost you about the same price as a membership to visit this zoo.  After parking and admission charges, a family of 4 will spend around $35 just to get into the zoo.  You might as well become a member and visit the zoo often. — The animals are great and the exhibits are interesting.  The food is way over priced so we always pack a lunch because they allow you to bring in coolers.  You will need food since this is a very large zoo and takes all day if you want to see all… read full review »

On a random day that my boyfriend and I both had off from work, we decided to visit the Toledo Zoo, thinking it would be small and we'd just spend a couple hours there. Were we surprised! The museum's actually very nice, and large enough that we spent the entire day there. One of my favorite things about the zoo was the "Meet the Handler" feature: Throughout the park, the handlers of various animals stood by their animals' pens and taught everyone about the animals and fielded questions from the crowd. We were entertained with lots of information from the elephant handler. The food and… read full review »

One of my top 2 small city zoos along with Tulsa, OK. This zoo is very impressive considering it has to complete with the heavy weights in the state such as Cinncinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. This zoo features an outstanding arctic exhibit that is second to only Detroit and Sea World. It has huge African savanna that you can see from a train. It also features the rare white lions only shown in several other zoos. This zoo is mostly made up of the arctic exhibits and African savanna but those 2 exhibits is enough to made it #2 on my list of best small city zoos coming really close to… read full review »

My family and I really enjoy the Toledo Zoo.  It was great when my daughter was young because it is just the right size--she wouldn't be exhausted by the end of the day like she was at the larger Detroit Zoo.  They keep the zoo very clean and the food is not bad (better than most zoo food) although a little high priced.  The parking is very convenient too -- we usually use the entrance at the back of the zoo (on Broadway) so it is a very small lot and you just need to cross the street to enter the zoo.  It's a great place for a family to spend an enjoyable… read full review »

We recently went here for the first time since it was remodeled.  What a great place to visit.  We really enjoyed all the exhibits we had a chance to see and the African Savannah was a lot of fun to get to see the animals being able to walk around.  My two-year-old was especially entranced by the elephants and meerkats. — — The Toledo Zoo is much more compact than the Detroit Zoo, which was easier on our son.  It's possible to see everything, but it's not so much that you feel overwhelmed.  —… read full review »

The toledo Zoo is a great place to take children . They can see all the animals and get exersize as well. It is a good way to get the whole family to bond. I am a mom of five children ages 3 through 9.  They love this zoo.  You can see it all in one day, but there is a lot to see from elephants to turtles.  They have a great African animal carousel for the kids to ride and a train that will take you through an African savannah.  The rides are pricey (as the seem to be everywhere) and the admission is steep for a large family as well.  But, they do sell memberships which are a great… read full review »

I absolutely love coming to this zoo.  I have brought my child to this zoo several times even though there is another zoo closer to where I live.  This zoo has wonderful exhibits.  The zoo itself is small enough so that you can see everything in one day, but large enough that it keeps you busy the whole day.  The gift shops are great and not too overly priced. … read full review »

I love the Toledo Zoo, it is kept up very well and I have been going since I was very little. It's always a bunch of fun and I would recommend it to everyone. It's not TOO big, but not too small. — — The only thing I wish they had were those little bike/cars that you can ride around, makes it a little easier on the feet. —… read full review »
