If what you want to toast is already in slice form, forget the frills and get yourself a toaster. More space saving and less time consuming than a toaster oven, the best toasters will get your pop tarts, bread slices and whatever else you can (safely) wedge in the slots hot and ready for delicious consumption.
Most toasters include either two or four spaces for toasting. They may include buttons to perfectly brown bagels, pastries and other breakfast goodies but do not have any other advanced features. Toasters are also smaller than their oven counterparts and would be best in a kitchen with limited counter space.
