TiVo - Digital Video Recorder —
Tivo can be a little tricky to set up, but otherwise it's fantastic. I have used a DVR before and their functionality just does not compare. The Tivo is intuitive, offers you a feature to get back a program you've mistakenly deleted, and is easier to find/search/add shows than a DVR. You must get a dual-tuner so that you can record two shows at once, and an HD if you can afford it. I seriously don't know what I'd do without it.
