cable user, LCD owner, current TiVo user, hooked on a few shows, computer literate, technically savvy
Pros

    Watch a show when you want to, total viewing flexibility, Watch shows you never knew existed!, Watch TV by your own schedule, never miss another show, watch WHAT I want WHEN I want, No commercials!!, Watch what you want when you want, incredible for sports

Cons
    makes you intolerant of regular tv, monthly fee, Can Spoil You, TIVO reccommedations are annoying

I just got my first TiVo and I can't believe I waited this long.  It is the best thing to ever happen to television, and I can't imagine someone not being a convert once you try it.  The ability to watch whatever you want, whenever you want, easily record every one of your favorite shows and even control it from a web-based interface are all fantastic features.  You can even download stuff on your TiVo to your computer and take it with you.
