Tis by Frank McCourt

 

This book is as amazing as the first book Angela's Ashes. Frank McCourt is a wonderful storyteller! If you've read Angela's Ashes you have got to check out Tis.

Tis tells of Frank's life once he gets to New York right after WWII, 1949, when he is 19 years old. Frank is amazed at what America has to offer, and one of his lines in the book is 'Isn't this a great country altogether?" And he answers "Tis."

He is taken under the wing of a priest, who helps him find a place and gets him settled, then the priest hits on him! Unfortunately his first few years in America are...
