Time Warner Cable - Company Review Summary

Time Warner Cable gets very mixed reviews from our members. There was no shortage of channels, as far as our reviewers were concerned, and the Time Warner Cable On Demand feature is a hit, allowing customers to watch what they want when they want. But problems started to mount when it came to price and, of course, customer service. “They shuffle me in between techs and customer service reps and I get no satisfaction at all” complains one disgruntled Time Warner customer. Says another one “Pricing continues to increase and service decrease!!” Also, our reviwers warn, look out for hidden fees. Want to keep looking? We’ve got reviews of Cox Cable, Verizon FiOS, Big Ten Network and many more!

I've had DirecTV since 1998. When I moved to Fort Hood, TX in 2006, they had all these stupid regulations for dishes, so I just got the Time Warner Cable bundle. It was very economical, the TV included in the bundle was more than basic. It had lots of channels. The basic internet service, which they...

Tonight I tried to watch TV on Time Warner Cable. I do not watch much TV. I have two boys and two TVS. Do the math. We're talking cartoons on one TV and sports on the other usually. One kid is off at college, so I can now click in with a window of opporunity, though I am not in the habit at this...

I'm really fed up with Time Warner Cable.  They're the only cable service offered here, so if you want to see any television, you have to use them.  I pay almost $ 150.00 for my package of regular channels, HBO, Showtime, and the "On Demand" stations.  On Demand is GREAT when it's working,  Unfortunately, that is hardly ever.

On Demand is supposed to be for watching movies, television programs, documentaries, and you can watch them whenever you want.  You can pause, rewind, and fast forward throught he shows.  It's great for my kids because they can watch what they want whenever they're bored. ...

Time Warner, like most cable companies as of late, is busy trying to rake money in hand over fist.  Who knows, maybe the big cable telecommunication companies are expecting a nationalization of telecommunication assets in the future, so they see it as a grab-bag game.  I wouldn't recommend buying stock in these companies.

I also would recommend avoiding them at all costs.  Buy an antenna.  Watch shows online.  Get a DVD rental plan.  Buy the seasons on DVD.  Whatever.  Just don't do cable (and don't go thinking that satellite is much better).  In fact, just get rid of your TV.  You don't...

We bought a sony Grand Wega 60" TV that is HD with our Dolby surround sound system it is a theatre at home.  We had Direct TV for 7 years with the 80gig TIVO but we wanted HD. When they came out to install it, their computer wasn't picking up the satelittes due to the large trees in our neighborhood.  So they told us we need cable for HD.

Here in Cleveland we have one & only one service Time Warner.  $50 for HD package of DVR & box.  So they installed it the next morning.  I noticed that the picture has the black sides which means it is not HD.  The technician tells me all stations are HD...

Time Warner recently "updated" their service in the Akron, Ohio, area.  The "grouping" of various channels by theme was OK - just takes a little getting used to after a number of years with the same channel lineup.  Re-programming "Favorite" channels went OK, except that I now have several channels that are offered in basic and expanded basic, as well as digital, showing up on my "favorites" 2 or 3 times.  That I can handle, also.  However, last Monday, April 14, 2008,. they "updated" their navigator.  I guess that that is the program that they use so that customers can get the onscreen menus,... review »

I have to give Time Warner a big thumbs down.  Unfortunately, there is no other choice for broadband cable internet service.  I pay $44.95/mo only to lose my connection every 10 mins.  When you call customer service they merely reset your modem.

The other gripe I have is that they do absolutely nothing for loyal customers.  New customers are paying only $29.95 for service and we loyal users can't catch a break.  No deals, nothing.  I work from home and require a broadband connection in order to connect with my employer so dial up and DSL is not an option.

I will celebrate the day Verizon...

Time Warner needs to up their game when it comes to customer service. I find most of the reps to be rude. I also would enjoy being able to understand the vast majority of them. I would like to have phone customer service able to speak clearly and more importantly with correct grammar.

Since joining Time Warner Cable we have experienced problems because they keep raising the bill on us and it is beginning to cost to much when you are on a fixed income.

After 7 years of DirecTV and my old neighbor now on ABC rehabing houses for folks who need one with all furnishings from Sears, who is Sponsor.  I sent him an email asking for assistance.  My legally blind husband cannot watch 50" TV without blocking the view for everyone else.  He has been reading in large print on a 25" monitor at work about SOny Grand Wega 65" TV.  Sears has it he tells me loudly.  So Paul gets back to me with half price ($2500).  Sony will not do freebies without advertising.  SO I get a call from the Manger of the store near us.  He has a set ready to bring to our...

Ever since Time Warner bought out Comcast in the Dallas area, we've had nothing but terrible customer service experiences.  The service guys are never there when they are supposed to be, they almost never have the equipment they need to have, and if they DO happen to show up, well...sometimes they're drunk.  And the switch from Comcast to TWC pricing was a beating, too.

First things first.  We own a Tivo Series 3, which is a dual tuner HD Tivo.  When we got it, the Comcast folks came out, installed the two tuners, and it worked like a champ.  When we had to replace the Tivo 3 for Tivo issues,...

I had a horrible time with Time-Warner Cable in San Antonio, TX. When one housemate left and another moved in, we cut down our extended digital cable package to basic cable, and TWC didn't like that one bit. We got charged every fee in the book. I had to go over the bill with a magnifying glass every month for three months before we got the whole billing switch straightened out.

We tried the digital phone package for a while - it was awful. All of a sudden, we were flooded with marketing calls. I found out it would cost us an extra FIVE DOLLARS A MONTH to make our number unlisted. So, we're paying...

I would have to say of every company I have ever dealt with Time Warner has the absolute worst service I have ever come across. It all started with the crazy technician that was sent out to my home who decide to have it out on the phone with his soon to be ex-wife in the middle of my living room. I have called them out several times with there gaurunteed on time service which I had to take 3 days off work to get since they repeatedly did not show up. I then had to go pick up my equiptment and install it myself. The majority of the issues I have dealt with are customer service related but there...

We have had a number of outages with our local Time Warner Cable.  Sometimes it's because of a thunderstorm, sometimes it's an unexplained outage with no unusual weather in the area.  We have always paid our bill on time, yet receive sub-standard service as far as outages are concerned.

Even with thunderstorms, in this day and age, you would think Time Warner would have the latest technology to make sure their customers' internet and cable connections would be more reliable.  This is 2009.  Many times the power to our home stays on just fine during bad weather, but Time Warner is out for...

About 4 years ago I signed with TWC Kansas City on a package for cable( up to channel 74), 768Kbps road runner (it's plenty fast for me, don't download much), and digital phone for the price of $75 a month plus taxes. Well my 1 year contract ended and for the past 3 years I have been getting the package for the same price, they never have raised the price on me. Well about 2 weeks ago I got a letter stating that my price will be going up $2 dollars a month, So I decided it was time to upgrade. Checked out all the options including Directv, Dish & AT&T U-verse, I found problems with all of them....
