I switched to TWC's three-tier svce plan (Internet, Cable TV, Telephone) one year ago. I have yet to experience the speedy road-runner ISP and gave up on tech assistance to help with problems. Repeated service calls & visits by technicians is prompt but usually unsuccessful to solve the issues at hand. Three months ago my new neighbor joined TWC for the same plan and is also having problems with her Internet connection. Since she moved downstairs, I am also experiencing party-line interferences on my telephone. We can actually hear each others conversations (local & long distance) which is a major problem. In an effort to try to temporarily stop the invasion of privacy, I switched to corded phones with land line connections which is an inconvenience and requires me to be stationery while talking on the telephone. My incoming callers conversations are limited and monitored for the sake of privacy, which is not fair to me. I also try to limit and monitor outgoing private business calls, especially when I know my neighbor is at home, for obvious personal reasons. One technician suggested that I should get a router to solve my problem. Another suggested a newer, more expensive telephone system (model) that may have a built-in descrambler device, of which I have not been able to find. I feel that TWC's system is responsible and owes it to me to correct this situation. I suspect that my neighbor may be using some type of product on her equipment (TV, Telephone or PC) that may be causing her reception to interfere with mine. I cannot directly address this issue with my neighbor or point the finger at her, but it is strange that this was not a problem to me, before she moved in. The previous neighbor also had Cable TV, Internet and Telephone svces but from another carrier. We did not have any problems like this for the 7 years that we shared the same building. As I foresaid, my TWC's road-runner service is quite slow and disappointing. A year later and I still do not use TWC's email service for any reason because of difficulties and connection problems. If only my area offered the opportunity to switch to other ISPs, I'd give up TWC but unfortunately I live in a region whereas only two ISPs are allowed and the other is just as bad as TWC. I'm constantly searching the market for a new telephone system that offers and guarantees descrambling, debugging, good reception with no interferences. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
