After 7 years of DirecTV and my old neighbor now on ABC rehabing houses for folks who need one with all furnishings from Sears, who is Sponsor.  I sent him an email asking for assistance.  My legally blind husband cannot watch 50" TV without blocking the view for everyone else.  He has been reading in large print on a 25" monitor at work about SOny Grand Wega 65" TV.  Sears has it he tells me loudly.  So Paul gets back to me with half price ($2500).  Sony will not do freebies without advertising.  SO I get a call from the Manger of the store near us.  He has a set ready to bring to our home.  I gave him our AMEX card #.  Husband is home ready for dinner, that isn't really made, and the doorbell rings.  Sears is here with a present to Jerry from MacGuyver.  He goes out & sees the men rolling in a large piece of something.  Into the house it comes, our neighbor comes over for the 50" he bought from me.

Now the Maxim glass & silver set up goes together and the packaging goes out to the truck & the 2nd very large & heavy piece of equipment comes out boxed.  Into the house it comes & the cut it open & place it on top of the glass & silver & his dream TV is his!

Then the phone rings & it is DirectTV who was out to our home with the HD Dish but cannot install it since we will not get 3 of 5 satelittes, so we will need cable.  The only company serving Cleveland is TIME WARNER.  So we purchase the HD package.  They are out the next day to install it.  Analog cables only, not HDMI as Time Warner doesn't have those. $105 a package at Best Buy.  But 65" of viewing for him in his recliner in front of it.  So for a year he has TV, DVR that records in HD, and now we are a year into Time Warner service.  They are advertising on TV FREE HD.  Our bill went up $20, eventho it was never the same amount everyr month.  They state it is the special HD channels.  UNIVERSAL which is NBC, for a movie channel, news channel, MOJO channel and something else.  4 channels for $20? I tell them they are advertising FREE HD, so why are we paying.  The free is the 5 local channels.  Well, they only have 12 total. We don't need them.  But no one else will service us since TW has legal hold on the city.

GOSH I HATE TIME WARNER!!!!!!!!!!  ATT & U-Verse, our neighborhood is wired for it and they even have BIG 10 Network, for OSU games every year, but not TIME WARNER!  They are also advertising their new grouping of channels 100-199 for kids, 300-399 for news, HD is 400-499.  But we don't have that & it is April as advertisied.

Time-Warner left Houston whining that they couldn't compete. Maybe it was because they were such a lousy company.

They are a big rip-off.
