Thrifty is consistent — I've used Thrifty Car Rental in countless locations across the U.S.   I have yet to have a "nightmare" experience, and have usually been more than happy. We have used Thrifty almost exclusively for the past few years and have never been disappointed. I am not usually brand-loyal. I always go for the best service for the best price. But 9 times out of 10, Thrifty has the lowest price. And they practically stumble over themselves to give you the best deal possible. We have gotten to the rental counter several times and been offered a free upgrade - once from an economy car to a mini-van. I just rented a car for a week while on vacation and we used Thrifty. We were given a 4door Suzuki something that was scaled down (did not come with the bells and whistles you'd see in other cars these days). There was no cruise control, the driver seat was manual for adjustment, not electric. The mph window was on the 10s so you had to actually pay attention to your speed by counting the hash marks in between the 10, 20, 30, etc. The seat could not be lifted up for shorter drivers such as myself so seeing the hood of the car was impossible for me. — The interior had been cleaned… read full review »

I found Thrifty to be easy to deal with. I made my reservation on-line and had no surprises when I picked the car up.
