I the long hold times were 3 hours or so. They couldn't tell me how much it would cost to resolve my problem except that roadside assistance was $77.56. They finally agreed to pick up the car. Then I received a charge for $1,600 plus. We had the car for 15 days and they charged us for 22. They are thieves!

I wish I could leave them a lower review. I purchased my car rental through a 3rd party company and ended up having to pay 100% additional (almost an additional $100) for fuel, toll agreement, and additional taxes and fees! I will absolutely never use this company for a car rental again!

Do not use this car company, they are complete rip off merchants. Me and my husband travel to the states regularly. We used Thrify car hire this time and travelled to Miami. There was a road going in that had no tolls or off road that is apparently a sunshine pass road (sat nav took us this way) you must be billed if you havent got a pass which is fair enough as thrifty were billed 6 x 1.5 dollars (3 lights going in and 3 coming out) Reasonable that they would charge us an admin fee? absolutely as they paid this for us. But guess what, even though all 3 charges were incuured at the same time Thrifty thought it was fair to charge us 15 dollars for each one dollar 50 charge!!!!!! total tol charges 9 dollars Thrify admins chages 90 dollars. This is by far the last time that my family (and friends if I can help it) will ever use this rip off company. Do yourselves a favour and use another car company, in my experiences they do not rip you off as much as this company will.

Philadelphia Airport thirfty rental refused to provide me a confirmed reservation and told me that my car was not available and to take a different car which i dont like to drive, i told them that i have a confirmation from thirfty and their answer was that everybody gotta confirmation so what, i had to leave to goto different rental ,,,,,,Never again

The agent added insurance I didn't need and an upgrade I didn't ask for. I caught the insurance but not the upgrade. Trying to get hold of someone in customer service is a nightmare and the agent would only say "you signed the contract". I explained our flight was delayed, we were tired and there was a line behind us and I never authorized an upgrade. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the customer service (not) would not let me talk to a supervisor.

I was charged double for the insurance that I purchased, then I get my final statement and they charged me for having the car an extra day, I called (3 times) got a different answer each time. Finally find out that they claimed that we didn't return the car until 11:30 rather than 5am. We actually returned it early at 4am. I asked why this was and was told that 11:30 is when they got around to checking in the key/returns from the drop off box. Not my fault that people can't get their jobs done until 11:30AM. I had to submit my travel itinerary to proved that I was on a plane almost home at 11:30. Ridiculous!!! Very rude customer service as well.

Booked online and was quoted a total fee. Went to jax airport and got charged a higher fee, making total charge $14.00 higher due to other charged based on % of base charge. Completed company survey, asked for a manager to contact me, haven't heard anything a week later. Lousy company and will not rent from them again!!

I was told to bring the car back empty to the rental company and would be charges $43 USD to fill the tank. I was charged $9.99 a gallon instead. After talking to customer service, I was refunded "some" of it back but not the agreed amount. Poor !

Rented a Thrifty vehicle at Shannon Airport - bought insurance, but was not told that we needed extra policy for tires. Of course, we got a flat. Paid for towing, paid for a new tire. (Btw The spare in the trunk was in very poor shape.) When we returned car to airport - no accommodation for the significant $$ outlay or inconvenience and, without having seen the car yet, the Hertz return agent (who handled Thirty) told us that we'd likely have to pay for the wheel rim. (We didn't - but let's talk about some courtesy here.) Just cancelled my Thrifty reservation for a Seattle trip in a couple of weeks.
