Quick View: ThingFling.com is a deal a day type site that has junky stuff, poor packaging, slow shipping, and non communicative customer service. It's really not worth the chance of spending money on the site. You may get what you paid for, you may not. And if you do get it, it will probably be junk anyway.

About ThingFling.com

This site sells one item at a time, generally an item an day unless they sell out of a "Fling" and post a new one. They sell small stuff like cables, accessories, office supplies, camera accessories, MP3 player accessories, and various other stuff that you can buy anywhere for cheap.

The prices are usually low to average. You can buy several of one deal for $6.00 shipping. If you buy two different items in 24 hours, shipping for the second order is $4.00. After that, if you buy more stuff in a 24 hour period, shipping is free so you will be charged $10.00 max in a 24 hour period. The problem is, they rarely have that many items up for sale in a 24 hour period.

I saw a deal for FREE ear buds - 10 decent looking ones - for just the $6.00 shipping. How can you beat that, right? I put my order in and they took my money immediately. Time passed. And passed. I got no order and no email about my order. Finally I wrote to the site asking where my order was and they eventually responded that they were behind and my order would go out soon.

I eventually got it and it was packed terribly. They tossed 10 cheapo ear buds into an envelope and sent it out. I had to untangle them all. They are awful and at least two pairs don't work. My kids won't use them and they don't have any foam around them to protect the ears. They HURT! They also sound like two tin cans connected with a string like I used to do when I was a kid trying to make my own "Walkie Talkies".

Although  I didn't pay a lot (well, anything but shipping) for the order, I wouldn't go back to ThingFling.com. They have really low quality stuff and I have heard from others that their shipping is slow all the time and packing is really bad. And get THIS! If an item is defective, you have to return it AT YOUR EXPENSE. Oh, take a hike, ThingFling!

My Viewpoint

Meh...I won't shop at this site and I don't recommend that you do. If you do, know that even if they send you a non working product, you will have to pay to send it back on top of the shipping you paid to have it sent to you. What a crock. They have no phone number to call and the whole things screams "waste of money!" to me. 2 generous stars.

Haha. I hope I do save people from being disappointed. I really don't think this site has anything you can't get elsewhere for the same price and less hassle.

I was almost tempted to give this review FIVE helpful votes. Attagirl, Patty, as far as those of us here are concerned, this place is BUSTED! Their FLING has been FLUNG and good riddance.

Yeah, this site is not one to waste time (or money) on. I have been trying to be serious with my titles but this one called for something a little catchy. lol.

In response to CrystaBush's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 11:59PM:

I think we should start doing that. We do exchange but everyone is so picky. I can't think of anyone to pawn the ear buds off to. lol.

Fardreamer wrote on Jul 11, 2008 at 3:00PM

Yikes. The only thing I like about this site, based on the review, is the name. And I love your headlines. Catchy and clever, they are.

My gosh, this site sounds terrible!

Do you do a White Elephant type exchange around Christmastime with friends or family??
I'm sure the would love some cheapo earbuds that hurt your ears!! :)
Great review! I never heard of that site.

In response to CyndiA's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 5:53PM:

LOL. Well most of my stuff is unused or used once. I just like to see it come to the door by UPS or through the mail. If they sent me an empty box, I'd probably be happy. I have a shopping disease, I think...

In response to AmyA's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 7:30PM:

I hope we never get a chance to shop together! We would wipe out the stores (or rummage sales) and come home with lots of "stuff"! Haha.

In response to PattyTherre's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 5:30PM:

Thus is why I just had a rummage sale LOL...OK, so I bought few items...a new air mattress, pump and some garden stuff, oh and some candles, a bracelet...OK, spent more then I made (hanging head) :)

First dibs. Oops. Forgot. I am cleaning out and not adding. Bad Cyndi. No more buying. Well, maybe a little.

In response to JazzSinger's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 5:54AM:

Indeed. I always think I am getting a "steal" and am disappointed 99.9% of the time.

In response to CyndiA's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 5:45AM:

I have so much junk as it is that I can't fit one more thing into my house, garage, yard, etc. Time for a big garage sale!

In response to AmyA's comment from Jul 8, 2008 at 4:52AM:

Haha, I am sure some stuff is worth the cost but who needs more junk? Not me!

The old saying rings true once again; you get what you pay for.

CyndiA wrote on Jul 8, 2008 at 5:45AM

I will be skipping this one. I hate to get junk.

AmyA wrote on Jul 8, 2008 at 4:52AM

Yikes! I get their name...you get things to fling lol. Thanks for the heads up!!!

In response to kid-kansas's comment from Jul 7, 2008 at 11:57PM:

Well, I did get my order. I usually reserve 1 star reviews of sites when they clearly rip me off or don't communicate at all. But for me, it's a 0 star site,

PattyTherre wrote on Jul 8, 2008 at 12:00AM

In response to MikeMaroon's comment from Jul 7, 2008 at 11:57PM:

Yeah... lol. CrapThing. FlingCrap. They both work. It's just a junky little site that some people apparently enjoy but I won't go back to.

PattyTherre wrote on Jul 7, 2008 at 11:59PM

In response to Katrena's comment from Jul 7, 2008 at 11:46PM:

They sit in my junk drawer for emergency ear bud replacements. I will stick with Woot! for deal a day items. They have some good stuff but they're higher end things.

kid-kansas wrote on Jul 7, 2008 at 11:57PM

After all I just read I would give it "0" stars.....you are being very generous...;)

MikeMaroon wrote on Jul 7, 2008 at 11:57PM

Sounds like more crapware!

Katrena wrote on Jul 7, 2008 at 11:46PM

Don't think I'll even be going to that site. Maybe the kids could use the buds in some sort of school experiment...
