The Last House on the Left (2009)starts with the Collingwood family going to the lake for a vacation. Mari (Sara Paxton) the daughter decides she wants to go to town to visit with a friend, so the parents say its fine. That was a BIG MISTAKE!

Mari and her friend are kidnapped that first night of vacation by a prison escapee and his crew. The only person that objects to the kidnapping is the escapee's son. The son don't agree with it at all, and it does upset him.

A bad storm comes up while the escapee, crew , and kidnapped girls are on the move in Mari's family SUV. Mari causes the SUV to wreck,...

"Last House on the Left" does a great job at getting to the core of what scares most people.  For many its having your child in harms way knowing there is nothing they can do.  But what happens what you are directly confronted with the person who harmed your child and you were in the position to do something about it?  The acting was superb and the action was very fulfilling.  The only critisim I really have for the film is the way they decided to close it.

The Last House on the Left is not a movie to be seen by anyone under sixteen years of age. The movie made me cry, cringe, and cheer. The cast did an awesome job with the characters.

  You will want to watch the movie with a friend Some of the scenes are very graphic and violent. You will cheer for the family.

  Last House on the Left will keep you wanting more and hold you spellbould.

The Last House On The Left is actually a remake of Wes Craven's first movie. It's a classic horror film from the 1970's. As far as remakes go this is a mondern remake of a cinematic classic but its nothing like the original. If you decide to check out Wes Craven's update of his first classic film only watch the unrated version if your not squeamish or easily disturbed.
