I've been working at TCP for almost two years now. (Previously an outlet store- now a regular store.) I know a lot about what goes on and the pro's and con's. First of all, this company really stives to provide excellent customer service. Thats basically the main point that this place wants everyone to know. They really truly try and do anything for their customers. They value people's opinions and always willing to hear about people's experiences.
Pro's: -Most clothes are made with quality standards (especially for the price you're paying). The socks are fabulous and TCP already shrinks all clothing sold before hand, so it they do shrink, it should only be about 10%. If your clothing shrinks more, you need to A.) read how to properly wash your childrens clothes OR B.) Return it because it might be flawed. -Prices are unbeatable. You get what you pay for- and that goes with ANYTHING! TCP usually comes out with nice clothes and they are always at a decent price. The thing people don't know about is that their are regular shoplifters (and actually, a lot of them!) These people who steal clothes are the ones who make prices go up- obviously, their are other factors like the economy and how everything is going up. -Return policy is reasonable. You have 6 months to return something from the date at which bought. You can always return something that you bought and realized it was flawed. We will never, ever question you for that. However, you'd be also, again suprised how many people buy things, let their kids wear them, and then try to return worn merchandise. This is completely unfair to our shoppers and the company itself. You must have your recepit for this return or otherwise we will only give you merchandise credit (this policy is in place for shoplifters who say they were shopping and accidentially lost their reciept.) At the returning/exchanging point we will always ask for your I.D. no matter how you paid. This is not only for the company's sake, but for yours. We make a strict policy so associates don't just "assume" that your Joe Smith and charge back other peoples accounts. You are being protected. -The clothes made ARE made a bit bigger than the "standard" size clothing. They are not made smaller. Kids are bigger now-a-days, and so the "standard" size clothing doesn't fit the needs of sizing today. TCP makes clothes (especially boy clothes) bigger. If your child doesn't fit into the right size clothing as what he should for his age- it's not our clothes... -Free shipping coupon. If you are at ANY TCP store and cannot find your size then we always give away free shipping coupons at the register. Typically all TCP stores are smaller- their are some exceptions at bigger malls. They buy the store but the unit of square feet. They also only ship us clothes that we should be able to sell between the time they are suppose to be on the floor to the time the sale ends. Strangly we run out of some sizes quicker than others and this way, we are providing you the availabily to order for free. (Reminder: this is the standard shipping only- you pay for faster service.) -If you do have a coupon but forget it- we will adjust your price. You have untill that coupon expires to get your receipt adjusted. You must bring in your origional receipt and coupon as proof. HOWEVER, like most things, their are a few exceptions. We ONLY ONLY ONLY adjust regular priced clothing that went to sale. We WILL NOT adjust clothing that you bought on sale and went on sale more. -Coupons are forever coming. Our coupons are now given back to the customer to use as many times as you want untill they expire. If you have a TCP credit card, you should NEVER be in the store without loads of coupons. Once you put $200.00 on your card, you will recieve a 10% off sticker to place on your TCP credit card to use for the rest of the year ON TOP OF other coupons. (EX. You may use your 10% off sticker along with your 15% off coupon that you recieved in the mail over and over again till they both expire). This is a awesome deal and you get MANY incentives, coupons, and rewards for being a card holder. I must tell you- if you go online to print off coupons... we WILL keep them without giving you them back. The company wants to save you money and we like it better if you just signed up with the company for coupons instead of finding them online. This is a rewarding thing. You can sign up for coupons without opening a credit card for those with bad credit, etc. (Oh also, applying for a credit card will automatically give you 10% off your purchase even if you are denied. You must then put $200.00 on your card to recieve the sticker.) -Adjustable waists in pants and jeans. You will love this feature because these pants will fit your child- not the other way around!
Additional Details: -Clothes are designed and ordered a year before they come out to sale. They order the number of sizes and designs of clothes 365 days prior to coming out. (This is just like any other store.) -TCP hardly sells anything plain. We are not known to sell the plain look. TCP sells fashion, comfort, and affordability. We will not sell anything plain in the boys section unless its polos and a few occasional girl tshirts and long sheeved tee's.
Good luck & happy shopping!
