Pressed for time but want to keep up on world events?
You need The Week.   This clever magazine takes on the world's meatiest topics and latest developments in politics, science, and health, & presents them in a user-friendly, quick-read format (not unlike USA Today).  It even includes quick-reference maps, just to feed your brain.

45 minutes a week
That's all you need to read The Week, and stay informed.   Best of all, The Week excerpts the most prominent U.S. and foreign newspapers, so you see where biases lie, while learning both sides of any issue tackled.  You'll see the tactics of various writers and media, and (BONUS!) start to feel that your own opinions are well-informed and more clearly defined.  Seeing both sides of an issue at once shows how utterly silly it is to read any ONE news publication, without also reading its counterpart, or knowing the full politics and agenda of the owner(s).  Who has time for that?

Impress your friends at cocktail parties
Okay, not the most admirable motivator, but heck, cocktail parties are important, too.  Incidentally, each issue also includes very cool reads on albums, books, theater and other performing arts, as well as pertinent Pop Culture blurbs;  plenty of cool stuff to talk about, besides war, terrorism and global warming.

The Bottom Line:  Libby Loves It!
