The Visitor is a story of a tired and widowed college professor who finds a young and vibrant couple living in his New York City apartment. Although unlikely the three become friends and their lives change in some ways for the better and some for the worse.
The Visitor is a commentary on our immigration system, our politics, the loneliness of someone later in their career and the positive impact of serendipity and caring for a stranger.
Although it is slow moving in parts, I found The Visitor to be a thought provoking film well worth seeing.
The Visitor was an unexpected pleasure. I had not even heard of it when I saw it at Red Box. I'm very glad I decided to rent it, and will be buying the dvd for myself. I was impressed at Richard Jenkins's performance in this movie. And Tarek Khalil is just amazing. Beautiful and talented. I fell in love with his character. This movie opened my eyes about immigrants in the U.S. and what they go through. I have recommended this movie to all my friends and family.
Richard Jenkins, the dead father on Six Feet Under, stars in this moving story of a man who finds a couple who have moved into his apartment as squatters while he was away.
