The Venetian Hotel - Las Vegas, NV —

The Venetian hotel in Vegas is lovely. Next to the Bellagio, I would say it is the "nicest" hotel for someone who is more into the social/art/dining scene than the gambling scene. Yes, people do go to Las Vegas for reasons other than gambling.

There are a lot of great things about the Venetian. First and foremost, the rooms are amazing. Really amazing! They are gigantic. I think they told me they are among the largest standard hotel rooms in the world. Yes! The world. I shared a room with a friend and we had more room that we would have ever needed. And, the bathroom. WOW! It was bigger than 3 of my bathrooms at home combined. Amazing, simply amazing.

The Venetian is also very tastefully decorated and it's Canal Shoppes offer good shopping. They also offer gondola rides which while a little corny, was really fun. And, our gondola guide was really talented at singing. My friend and I loved it! Lastly, I would note that they have pretty good dining options that are reasonable. I ate at the Grande Luxe which is always a fun experience and good food. :)

The major downside (and it's a big downside in my opinion) is the location. It is all the way at the end of the Strip across from Treasure Island. That means it is a huge hall to go to any of the other nice hotels. BUMMER! It can also be pretty pricey at some times of the year. If you are lucky, you can stay for about $200.

I would note that I planned a corporate outting at the Venetian for about 30 people and they were great about accomodating all of our needs. (so, as a person guest and a corporate guest, I was impressed with their service!)

If you are looking for luxury in Vegas with good service, rest assured the Venetian is a good option. But, plan to pay a lot, get nickled and dimed and do a lot of walking. 3.5 in my book. Rooms-- a 5!
