I knew that I would be going to The University of Georgia when I was in the fourth grade. I wanted to be a veterinarian at the time, and our dog's vet was a UGA grad, so that sealed the deal. By the sixth grade I'd decided I would be a journalist, but fortunately UGA has a great Journalism school as well, so I didn't have to change my plans much. I did end up going to UGA and graduating with a degree in journalism from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, although my career as a journalist was short-lived, by choice.
About the University of Georgia
Located in Athens, Georgia,...
Going to the University Of Georgia was one of the smartest decisions I think I ever made. Not only was I in a wonderful city (Athens, Georgia) surrounded by some of the nicest people I've ever met but the school itself was impressive. I can just mention that I received a degree from UGA and people seem to respect you just a little more. Between my surroundings, my friends, and the real-life experiences I took from there, UGA will ALWAYS hold a special PLACE IN MY HEART.
And i will alsway yell "GO DAWGS!" rather than Gators (even though I now live in FLA)
Xx

I am a graduate of the University of Georgia and I cannot think of anywhere else I would have wanted to go to college. UGA has the great atmosphere of a large college with great professors and programs. Even though the campus is large, I always felt like I knew so many people on campus because I was involved in a lot of organizations.
UGA is a great school, where, even though it's large, you won't feel "lost in the crowd". I have a PoliSci degree from SPIA and I think it's rapidly becoming a superior program.
Of course, if you aren't from Georgia, there might be some hurdles to overcome, but we're friendly enough folk that you shouldn't have much trouble.
Great course offerings, great community, great athletics...not much to complain about. And the alumni network is alive and well.
