I knew that I would be going to The University of Georgia when I was in the fourth grade. I wanted to be a veterinarian at the time, and our dog's vet was a UGA grad, so that sealed the deal. By the sixth grade I'd decided I would be a journalist, but fortunately UGA has a great Journalism school… read full review »

I don't like them, the only thing good about bulldogs are that they make good gator bait. An excellent school, the students always help the new freshmen out, the teachers are amazing, and if you love to party but still get your work done, then this is the place for you man. The athletic programs were amazing, I had a great time being in the football and wrestling programs, and I would return to this school and go through it all over again if I was given the chance to. Some shout outs (and recommendations) would be to Coach Zimmer and Dr. Walker, my wrestling coach and my amazing Biology professor who helped me out through some tough… read full review »

A 28 year association with UGA has brought me 3 degrees (2 agriculture & 1 education), and 5 jobs in 3 separate areas of the campus. My husband has 2 degrees (education), our son graduated from the Forestry School and my brother has degrees in business and Spanish. There are places I have yet to haunt, but I know more about this campus than most students or employees. — — My advice to ANYONE who intends to pursue an undergraduate degree at UGA is to get the core coursework somewhere else. Freshmen and sophomores need small classes with instructors, not teaching assistants. … read full review »

I am a third year at UGA and still love it. I now live in student apartments outside of campus, but I am not missing out on campus life. — I am majoring in Drawing and Painting, and Art Education. The Lamar Dodd School of Arts of UGA has an excellent program for all departments of art. Its challenging, yet still fun. The professors and teachers are mostly all down to earth while doing their jobs... (with an exception of a few) — Although the art building is a bit small, we have numerous smaller buildings around campus that are ours as well, and it works out nice... not too crowded… read full review »

The University of Georgia may not be the highest ranked academically, it may not have all the of the world-reknown names that Harvard or Yale may boast, and it may be in a college town, but these are all characteristics of UGA that make it such a great school. Coming from out of state, it was difficult at first, as the majority of the school is Georgia grown. However, being a social person, I overcame the fact that I knew only two people at the entire school. UGA enabled me to become involved in many things I would not have had the chance to do at a smaller or more rural university. … read full review »

I am  biased since i grew up on UGA, but it is a great school for the quality of education, price, standard of excellence and atmosphere.  I graduated in 2005 and then worked for the university for a year because i loved it so much.  Athens is a great town, with tons to do, and the school just adds to the southern hospitality.  There are negatives, like it being a big school, so sometimes it is hard to get into a class, but you always get it eventually, even if you have to put it off a semester (the registration process gives priority to those with the most hours), it's… read full review »

My daughter attended the University of Georgia.  She left a small high school in a small town then went to Athens to live on campus (which was required).  Her freshman year was an eye-opener.  She had breezed through high school.  She quickly realized that she would not breeze through college.  The night-life and other attractions in Athens were a definite distraction.  She found it difficult to avoid them and soon she was struggling in her academic efforts.  She is a very, very smart girl.  UGA is a very good school.  However, it is not… read full review »

I graduated in 1976. The years I attended UGA were fabulous. I lived in Maryland at the time. Traveling back and forth, while long, was not unenjoyable. The time went by fast. — — My stay at Georgia allowed me to meet different people, different lifestyles, and just a different way of doing things. Living around DC, everything was fast paced. When I got to Georgia, I had to learn to slow down. It was a good thing. I could learn to kick back and enjoy things. School came easy for me, so there was no stress, I partied a lot, made a lot of new friends, a few that I am still in… read full review »

UGA is a great school, where, even though it's large, you won't feel "lost in the crowd".  I have a PoliSci degree from SPIA and I think it's rapidly becoming a superior program. —  Of course, if you aren't from Georgia, there might be some hurdles to overcome, but we're friendly enough folk that you shouldn't have much trouble.  —  Great course offerings, great community, great athletics...not much to complain about. And the alumni network is alive and well. —… read full review »

I was hesitant about going to UGA.  I really wanted a smaller school but ultimately decided to go there because of its reputation for having a wonderful early childhood education program.  Once accepted into the program I was in class with the same 30 girls for two years.  I loved the small, intimate classes where the professors actually got to know you.  I am graduating in December and am so glad that I decided to go… read full review »

I am a graduate of the University of Georgia and I cannot think of anywhere else I would have wanted to go to college.  UGA has the great atmosphere of a large college with great professors and programs.  Even though the campus is large, I always felt like I knew so many people on campus because I was involved in a lot of organizations.  —… read full review »
