Pros

well qualified instructors, great music scene, top rate education program, great sports programs, a wealth of tradition and history, fun environment

Cons

class registration can be tough, class sizes can be too large

I am biased since i grew up on UGA, but it is a great school for the quality of education, price, standard of excellence and atmosphere. I graduated in 2005 and then worked for the university for a year because i loved it so much. Athens is a great town, with tons to do, and the school just adds to the southern hospitality. There are negatives, like it being a big school, so sometimes it is hard to get into a class, but you always get it eventually, even if you have to put it off a semester (the registration process gives priority to those with the most hours), it's not as diverse as one would like, there are a lot of Atlanta kids, so out of staters and southern GA folk are a need, and the class sizes can be big, but only for those classes that everyone has to take, like history, psychology, etc, so those aren't that bad. THe campus is big, with North Campus bordered by downtown, which has a great music and bar scene at night, with a fun atmosphere for shopping and hanging out during the day. West campus is where all the freshman dorms are, East campus is the Ramsey physical fitness center, which is amazing!, and then South campus has it's charm too. The people and experience from UGA is one that is unique and one that will make you proud to be a bulldog for life :-)
