The Ultimate Gift DVD Review Summary

Fans refer to The Ultimate Gift as "a heartwarming movie you'll remember for a lifetime." Based on the book of the same name by Jim Stovall, this film stars Drew Fuller (Charmed, Army Wives), Abigail Breslin, James Garner, and Lee Meriwether. "This is a story of a year-long quest by Jason Stevens (Fuller) to inherit a piece of his billionaire grandfather's estate." To receive the inheritance, "Jason must complete a series of tasks," with each one "bringing him one step closer to true happiness." Just as Jason's life becomes impacted in this quest, reviewers are reporting that their lives were impacted as well watching The Ultimate Gift, even though many of them had never heard much about the film before they watched it. It becomes a "must see ... inspiring, motivational" movie as reviewers are practically guranteeing it "will make you cry at one point." "The Ultimate Gift is a best-selling story that keeps giving."

I was very fortunate to have seen this movie in a private screening last year. The Ultimate Gift is a movie version of the book by the same name written by Jim Stovall. The book has sold over 3 million copies.

This movie was released nationwide a few weeks ago for a limited run. I plan to purchase the...

Netfilx recommended The Ultimate Gift, so I gave it a try. It turned out to be neither great nor terrible, just a string of missed chances holding together a predictable story.

Self-made billionaire Red Stevens (James Garner) dies at the beginning of The Ultimate Gift and all the relatives line up for...

After a long weekend, I ended my Sunday night in one of the best ways....I rented The Ultimate Gift and watched it with my daughter.  I wasn't sure what to expect.  I honestly have not heard a lot about this movie.  This is a movie that we will remember for a long time!

The Ultimate Gift is a best-selling story that keeps giving.

After his extremely wealthy grandfather dies, trust fund "brat" Jason Stevens expects a big inheritance (along with everyone else in his family).  Instead, his grandfather gives him a much needed crash course on life and twelve tasks, actually "gifts" - that challege...

I had seen this movie at the movie store and it piqued my interest. I knew from how many were available to rent that it was an obscure movie, but they were all rented the first time I noticed it?!  It wasn't until my 20 year old son mentioned it and gave it a good review "You'll like this one, Mom!", that I decided to make the effort to rent and watch it.

Now, you have to understand that this is not a movie that a normal 20 year old boy would watch ... or admit to watching. However; my son and I share a love for motivational and inspiring movies and books that have a message. Something that you...

A CHRISTMAS STORY:

Any nine-year-old kid in the '40s would passionately want, for Christmas, a Daisy Brand Red Ryder repeating BB carbine with a compass mounted in the stock. Of course. And of course, his mother would say, "You'll shoot your eye out." That's what mothers always said about BB guns. I grew up in downstate Illinois. The hero of this film, Ralphie, grew up in Gary, Ind. Looking back over a distance of more than thirty years, the two places seem almost identical -- Middle American outposts where you weren't trying to keep up with the neighbors, you were trying to keep up with Norman...

I really enjoyed this sweet movie. It's hard to find movies that make you feel good but this one did. I saw it several months ago so it's not that fresh in my memory but I did enjoy it as did my husband and daughter. It reminds us what it means to be 'human'!

I was thrilled to watch this with My twin Boys we did not have to cover there eyes or ears at all and the story was a story we all need to learn

It was filled with a heart inspiring, fast moving life changing message.

This was no slow movie and My 12 year twin Boys loved it It really is the story about manhood, and what is important about life... I would recommend any one to watch this move but ladies bring the tissues because it really is a wonderful film.

The film maker did a great Job and I as a parent appreciate the Family values they put into it.

This movie begins with the death of the patriarch of a family worth billions of dollars.  As we learn of three sons and one daughter who all were raised by a single father with more money at their disposal than any of them could appreciate.  Each of these children has an attitude of the rich and find no time to serve mankind.  One son, however, is adventurous and travels to far away reaches.  On one of his travels, while traveling with his father, the son takes off in his small plane and ends up crashing it and dies.  So, we learn of his son and widow at the funeral.  The son was never told... review »

"The Ultimate Gift"is a movie screen play written by Cheryl McKay, based on the best-selling book with the same name, written by Jim Stovall.  This 2006 Crystal Heart Award winner is about Jason Stevens (Drew Fuller), a spoiled- rotten, super-rich, young man who is taken on a journey to discover the true meaning of life, after the death of his grandfather, Red Stevens (James Garner).  In order to receive his inheritance, Jason must complete a series of tasks (gifts), each gift bringing him one step closer to true happiness or the "Ultimate Gift".  Among those gifts are respect for money, the...

The movie "The Ultimate Gift" is a great film for the whole family. It shows that when you work hard for something and for the right reasons, anyone can make a diiference!
In the movie, a spoiled rich young man pops onto the scene after a relative dies.  The young man is left with the family estate, but must go through a series of events before he can inheriet his "riches."  The young man wants to quit and just go on with his life in the beginning because he is not used to manual labor or communicating with the commom person.
By sticking with the series of events he finds love and charity.

It is...

I've wanted to watch this movie with my entire extended family because it is that good of a movie. My sister is a frequent movie-goer and she'd never seen or heard of this movie. She's missing out. It seems like a classic tale, but it really draws you in. I really do love how even my neices and nephews could watch this movie and I wouldn't have flinch or close their eyes/ears in any part. Even the little bit of romance that's in this movie fits in the right spot--not like it comes from left field. It ends almost like it should. Like a Nicholas Sparks film, but there's still a happy part to the... review »

This movie was a funny, sweet movie. It has a great message in it that is portrayed through a great story of growth. The guy in the movie starts as a spoiled, selfish brat. However, as the movie progresses, he learns a lot of life lessons. Two important lessons were forgiveness and selflessness. He was able to forgive his grandfather. He also learned to focus on others rather than on himself, especially when he became acquainted with an outgoing little girl who had terminal cancer. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a feel-good family movie!!

This was a great movie! it had everything from the love story, to the O NO WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN, to the cry your eyes out ending. and it left me wanting to be a better person. the great thing about this movie was that you didnt really know what was going to happen next. yes you always know somehow the story is going to have a happy ending but this movie had so many turns i was on the edge of my seat. yes the acting could have been better but i think that is kinda what added to the movie. it made the thing more real.
